Race 1
#5 SUPER AXIOM has plenty in his favour tonight with a drop back in class, a return to the minimum distance at Happy Valley and 10lbs claiming rider Ellis Wong booked to take the reigns. He also possesses exceptional gate speed which should assure he's the dominant leader for a long period of this contest. His overall form this season does however read fair but it won't get any easy for him than what it does tonight.
#3 HERO STAR is better know for winning his races over 1200m but at the same time hasn't had many opportunities over the shorter journey of 1000m.This 1000m contest coincides with his first drop into class 5 and he has enough power from the gates to position nicely. With a 5lbs claim for rider Angus Cheung, and a likely trail on the leaders back throughout, means he'll be there to cut down SUPER AXIOM and company when they turn for home.
#7 MODEST GENTLEMEN won a race almost identical to this back in January and the key on that occasion was the low and favourable draw. He's had a transfer of stable leading into this outing and now resides in the competent hands of Dennis Yip.A recent track work gallop against Hong Kong Derby winner MASSIVE SOVEREIGN was a satisfying piece of work so I'd be including him in everything.
#6 SWEET DIAMOND ran a nice race to just go under behind HAPPY HORSE two start back and is worthy of consideration after another hearty effort last start. He's a winner in class 4 for this jockey Alexis Badel but unfortunately draws another ugly and awkward barrier. He's tactically adaptable and it's predicated he'll race handy, meaning he'll need luck, but he's a consistent animal recently and is close to another win.
#8 TIMESTORM has been a disappointing purchase that continually catches the eye and he did that again last start over the longer journey of 1200m.Hugh Bowman is a rider that's been able to extract honest efforts from him on most occasions so he's worth of consideration. There's no doubt his best effort would be good enough to win this but he's running out of chances to get it done.

Race 3
#10 DAN ATTACK has always had his fair share of ability but its taken time to put it all together and produce. It appears trainer Jamie Richards is finally getting to the bottom of him and working out exactly what makes him tick.Taking off all the head gear and leaving the tongue tie on has certainly been the essence of better results, but, cheek pieces have now also been added. The widish draw means he'll need a fraction of good fortune early but he still remains one of the better options.
#9 PARENT'S LOVE doesn't possess a great deal of race experience at this point but has shown some encouraging signs. He steps up in distance tonight to 1200m and draws much nicer than at his previous couple of starts.Angus Chung has been with him his entire preparation and now he's fully fit I'd expected him to position on speed. With the inside barrier to leave from he's going to do no work and therefore worthy of including in all calculations.
#2 SAKEWIN won his last race of a rating of 70 points at Sha Tin in January 2023 when he lead throughout to score. Now he's rate 59 points and finds his way into class 4, for just the second time, he should be seriously considered. He also won his only attempt in this grade on debut and despite the wide draw he faces should be finding the lead. He's fit and dangerous for familiar rider Mathew Poon especially if he secures what he wants in front.
#4 EXUBERANT is racing consistently and should be entertained on that basis alone because he remains nicely rated. He and Jerry Chau have put together a fairly solid season so far with one win and three minor placings from seven starts. The expected speed of this event looks perfect for his closing style, but the key to victory is finding the clearest path and unimpeded run down the stretch.
#5 SUPERB WITNESS has drawn poorly for his second career start but I wouldn't be underestimating his chance of improving. He's raced in the same interests as the almighty SILENT WITNESS and the owners are yet to purchase a galloper that doesn't know how to run.In his two trials at Happy Valley, prior to his debut, he closed in well from behind so expect him to appreciate the additional 200m on offer.
