Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Picture: Korea Racing Authority

(9) USEUNG CONCORD raced twice in late summer last year, recording a 3rd and a 2nd over 1000M and 1200M. He hasn't raced since but trialled up fairly in March and Moon Se-young's engagement makes it likely they intend to pick up from where they left off and win first-up against this very limited set of opponents. (5) ARCH ROCKET has hinted at ability and should at least be on pace here. An apprentice keeps his weight very light, and he should be in the mix. (10) POWER TRY is the solitary debut maker. It took hm two goes to qualify but he looked competent enough at the second time of asking and he can be considered against this lot. (7) JEONGSEONG VICE and (6) HERO NARA others in the placing frame.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(9) BREEDO KING STAR enters off a 3rd and a 4th, both at this distance and both times settling behind the lead before finishing well. Despite the wide draw, he can be expected to be on pace here and he us the one to bear. Clear second-pick is (1) GEUMSEONG REVERE. Having returned from almost nine months out to run a 4th place over 1300M on March 14th, she should strip fitter here and can be a danger. The form falls off significantly after those, but (5) ÉCLAIR POWER has hinted at ability across his three starts so far. He has got a bit far back in his races but should be running on strong here. (7) CHANGJOUI GIDUNG and (3) HIGH END are potential improvers.

Busan Race 1: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(9) BLAZING MAN will be the favourite here. He has shown steady improvement across his three starts so far, most recently when 4th over 1400M on March 22nd when racing on pace. He has finished ahead of a few of these already and he should be finishing ahead of all of them today. (3) THUNDER GUY comes in having finished a fair 4th on debut over 1200M on March 31st. The time wasn't the quickest, but he should have benefitted from the experience and with some natural improvement, can go closer here. (4) HANEUL SINHWA dead-heated for 5th place behind Blazing Man last time out and can there or thereabouts again. (2) BEST BOY and (7) GOAT KING IJI among others to consider for the minors.

Selections (9) Blazing Man (3) Thunder Guy (4) Haneul Sinhwa (2) Best Boy

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1300M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Fillies only and (2) JERAQUEEN will be a warm favourite here having made steady progress across her five starts so far, culminating in a runner-up finish over 1300M in a similar all-filly race on March 17th when leading almost all the way. She draws nicely to lead again and will be expected to go one better. (10) BEATRIZ enters having run an improved 3rd over this distance in February when racing on the pace. The same apprentice keeps her weight nice and light, and despite the wide draw, she can be on pace and in this again. (7) PINK WIND was one of those behind Jeraqueen on March 17th, but she has a 2nd place to her name and can be a factor here. (6) CHOGANGBULPAE and (5) MONEY TOUCH others in the placing frame.

Selections (2) Jeraqueen (10) Beatriz (7) Pink Wind (6) Chogangbulpae

Busan Race 2: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(5) MORPHEUS is up in class having secured his maiden win at the sixth time of asking when stepped up to a mile and leading all the way on March 24th. He has performed well at this distance as well and while he doesn't get much in the way of a weight break, he can be on pace again and can go back-to-back. (4) MOVIE MORE is yet to win in ten attempts, nine of hem at this distance but she comes in with a 4th and a 3rd from his latest two. She carries a light weight, draws well to challenge Morpheus for the early lead, and it could well be her day. (2) VELOCIRAPTOR was a winner at this class over 1300M two starts back. It may have been her first win on her twentieth start, but she has loads of experience at this level and this is the kind of company she can place among. The rest need to improve on recent form with (11) WONDERFUL CHEROKEE and (6) SINHAE MANGCHI perhaps the most likely.

Selections (5) Morpheus (4) Movie More (2) Velociraptor (11) Wonderful Cherokee

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(9) YONGAM MARENGO finished down the field when sent off as favourite at class and distance on March 23rd. The margins weren't huge though and we can give him another chance after two near-misses leading up to it. He can sit behind the speed and prove too strong late on. (6) RAON THE TAP has two placings at this class and enters off a fair 5th, ahead of Yongam Marengo in that March 23rd race. Moon Se-young stays aboard, and he will have plenty of backers here. (5) MEOTJIN GIROK has been working his way back into form and enters off a smart 2nd place at class and distance on March 17th. He is another with a strong finish who should be doing his best work late. (4) BULGEUN POKPUNG and (7) NAOL DAEWANG others to consider.

Busan Race 3: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

Fillies and mares only here. (11) JAZZ STAR was a winner on debut over 1200M in an all-filly maiden on March 22nd when settling midfield and running on. She comes up in class and in distance here, but neither should be an issue, and, under a light weight, she can maintain her 100% start. (2) WONDERFUL CUTIE is the main danger. She was a winner at this class and distance in February – the only one in the field to have prevailed at 1400M – before running midfield in stiffer company than this and under 56kg last time out. She comes down in the weights here with an apprentice engaged, is drawn well, and she can return to form. (10) ARION QUEEN will need a line drawn through her latest over a mile but should be happier back in trip here. (7) NONSTOP DUTY and (1) CHIMING RUN others in the hunt.

Selections (11) Jazz Star (2) Wonderful Cutie (10) Arion Queen (7) Nonstop Duty

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(3) ROYAL BEST got his maiden win over 1300M in January, making all, and has since been 4th on both tries at this class, both times having led. He draws nicely here, CC climbs aboard, and he can win. (2) JECHUK IHO remains a maiden but is yet to finish any worse than 4th after five starts last year. He hasn't raced since last October but he looked very well when leading all the way in a trial at the start of this month, and from a good gate, he can put in a bold showing first-up. (9) HAEJE YEOGEOL got her maiden win two starts back before running 2nd on her first try at this class over 1200M on January 14th having led. She comes in fresh after fourteen weeks out and she can be in the hunt. (4) GOLDEN LINE and (6) TAMNA CHOEGANGJA others to consider.

Busan Race 4: Class 4 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(5) VERLUC is the one to beat here. Entering off a 2nd and a pair of 4th places from his latest three appearances, all at this class over 1800M, his recent form is superior to that of the rest and while he comes up 2kg in the weights, he draws well to get to the lead, and he will take some beating. (4) WINNABLE EDITION has raced just four times. He had a hard time in his latest when draws wide over 1400M, but he comes into a much better gate today, and the mile may suit. (12) CORNER ONE comes up in class having scored over 1400M on March 8th. He comes up to the mile for the first time but carries a light weight and can measure up. (3) NAKDONG JEONSA is the only previous winner over this distance and along with (11) CHARMING BEST, is another to consider.

Selections (5) Verluc (4) Winnable Edition (12) Corner One (3) Nakdong Jeonsa

(9) ENTROPY enters off back-to-back 3rd place finishes over 1300M and then at this distance on March 24th, when settling midfield and running on well. In this company, he can sit just behind the early speed, and he has every chance. It is a competitive race though. (8) LONDON VICTORY got his maiden win two starts back over 1200M before running 4th at 1300M on his first try at this level on March 10th. He steps up to two turns for the first time, but it can suit, and he looks to have plenty of scope for more development. (2) THE GIANT remains a maiden but comes up in class after a pair of runner-up finishes. He is down in the weights and is set to be on pace and potentially in this a long way. (7) MAX GOLD and (10) STAR RUSH others in the placing frame.

(9) LAST DRAGON has won his latest two and three from five in total, most recently over 1400M at this class on March 29th. He comes up a full 4kg in the weights, as well as up to two turns for the first time, but he has been versatile in his running style so far and neither should be a problem. (1) CHOEGANG MARINE will need his latest overlooked, but he has placed at class and distance and from the inside gate and with Tanaka aboard, he can be given another chance here. (2) HAPPY BLUE was a class and distance winner as recently as January and while he carries 4kg more than he did that day, he ran 3rd under this same 57kg on April 5th, and he draws well to be on pace. (11) BABEL HEART and (4) ROCK AND ROLL others in the hunt.

Seoul Race 7: Class Open (2000M) Weight for Age / YTN Cup (KOR G3) / KRW 500 Million

The second leg of the Stayer Series. (14) GLOBAL HIT won the first leg, the Herald Business over the same course and distance on March 17th, having settled midfield from exactly the same wide draw he gets here, before proving too strong. He can confirm his succession from Winner's Man as Korea's top horse here. (3) NUT PLAY was 2nd in the Herald Business having also come from well back. He got to within three-quarters of a length of Global Hit and with a much better draw today, a reverse can't be ruled out. (2) JEONGMUN COBIT is in remarkable form, having won his latest four, most recently over this distance on March 24th. That was only at class 2 level, but the time was competitive, and he could make for appeal at an each-way price. Stablemate (7) TUHONUI BANSEOK along with Global Hit's stablemate (10) SPEED YOUNG, 3rd and 5th respectively in the Herald Business, are the other leading contenders.

(9) FANTASTIC KINGDOM returned from almost a year out to lead every step of the way over this distance on March 24th. He comes up in class today but is down in the weights and if anything should strip fitter for that run and he can continue making up for lost time here. (5) CHOICE RUN was a winner over this distance at class 3 level three starts back and has since run 2nd in both his attempts at this level, both in quick times and both times beating soe of today's rivals. An apprentice takes 2kg off his back and he shapes as the main danger. (6) CARPE BABEL was 3rd behind Choice Run on March 29th and can be up with the pace and a place chance again. (3) BOLAVEN is second up having run 4th in that March 29th race in his first start since last June. He too can make progress. (2) HANGANG SAVER another chance.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(1) GLOBAL MENI is up in class having scored over 1400M on March 30th when settling back and running on. That took him to two wins and a 3rd from his last three outings which gets him rapidly up to class 4. He looks to have more scope for development and the two turns may suit. The big danger and probable betting favourite is (6) SEGWANG FIGHTER. He has two 2nd places among his lates three, most recently a near miss at this class and distance on March 10th when settling behind the pace and running on. He comes up a full 4.5kg in the weights but should be very competitive again. (2) JEONGWOO FOREVER enters off three consecutive runner-up finishes. He comes up 3kg in the weights but draws well and should be close. (4) LUCKY PARTY and (5) SKY HAMSEONG others in the frame.

(8) SPEED ONE is a winner of three from five in total, including his latest on March 3rd at this class and distance. That brings him up a full 5kg in the weights, but Moon Se-young stays aboard, and he has every chance of continuing his winning streak. So too does (4) YEONGWON FIGHTER. He was a winner at this class over 1200M on March 16th, his second start back following an eight-month layoff. He too comes up in the weights, but he draws well and third-up can be peaking fitness-wise. (5) DAEHEUNG CLASS is yet to win but has no fewer than ten top-three finishes and can be there or thereabouts again today. (9) SPARK THUNDER and (2) ZIRCON others in contention for at least the minors.

(2) CHAMJOEUN JILJU stepped up to this class on March 23rd and ran a close 3rd place over this distance, settling handy before dropping back to midfield and then running on well. That was her first go at 1400M and she should have benefitted from it and under the same weight and from a good gate, she is the one to beat. (6) GEOMIBULU is up in class having come from off the pace to win at 1200M on March 9th. She come sup to this trip for the first time, but CC stays up and she is down in weight. (9) STUNNING SKY has finished no worse than 4th in five outings to date. He enters off his maiden win at 1300M on March 17th and while up in class, he can be competitive. (1) CAPTAIN SAMCHIRI has won two out of his last three, most recently at this class and distance on March 2nd when leading all the way. He comes up 4kg in the weights, but that is balanced somewhat by a good gate, and he can win again here. (3) MAUIWAY weakened having led over 1400M on his first try at this level on March 24th. The margins weren't huge though and back at 1200M, he can be challenging Captain Samchiri for the early lead and can be in this a long way. (9) EAST JUMP too should appreciate the drop back in trip and can go close. (5) THUNDER DREAM returns to action for the first time since winning at start number two last November. He is up in class but down in the weights, and he looked well when winning a March trial. (4) GANGHAN QUEEN another in the frame.
