Two starts back, Good Fight went down to Perfect in a Supreme C event over 1400m on his track. He finished down the field when Perfect won again in a Class 3 – 1400m three weeks ago.
Perfect was expected to complete a hattrick and punters backed him to start odds-on today. But the favourite failed to fire and finished a tame fifth.
Good Fight, on the other hand, surged to the front after 200m to lead the rest of the way home, winning by 1 3/4 lengths. He paid RM92.
The day's proceedings were cut short after two jockey Khaw Choon Jit and apprentice Chong Kar Hoong fell in Race 6 and there were no ambulances on standby for the final two races.
Meanwhile, jockey Laercio De Souza enjoyed his best afternoon this season when he booted home three winners: Modric , Always Afraid and Household Dynasty .
