Race 1

#8 SON OF MAKFI is yet to win on the dirt but it hasn't been from a lack of desire. He was stiff in the stretch at a crucial stage last start and should've definitely finished a few lengths closer.
With Bowman not participating in the first race Ferraris takes the ride, which hopefully pushes him out a fraction in the betting.
#5 KILLER INSTINCT was primarily a 1200m horse last season but has stretched his stamina out to the longer trips.A liking for the all weather surface is clearly noted following a fantastic late charging second place last start. It's another tricky draw to work with but he's ready to win and with luck that'll be the case.
#4 NICE BIRDIE has been in training since July last year and arrives here today ready to win.A horror draw and awkward beginning cost him any hope last outing when starting favourite.
Conversely, an ideal draw here is far more attractive and I'd be surprised if he doesn't finish high up in the frame.
#1 AMAZING TEENS is aware of what's required to win under today's race conditions and would even prefer it longer. With start eight for the season about to get underway there'll be no excuses around fitness.Where he ends up from gate eight mind you is in the lap of the gods, but he's good enough to go close with favours.
#14 SMART FOLKS is the lowest rated runner that's drawn the outside barrier but is capable of running a strong race on speed. He'll rocket out of the stalls with superior acceleration and have the race in his control by the time they reach the back stretch.Winning at this level is to this point unachieved but he'll give you a run for your money.

Race 7

"Hong Kong Gold Cup"
 (Gp1 - 2000m)

#1 GOLDEN SIXTY was beaten a massive 5.5 lengths when starting the 1.4 favourite in this event last year, and at the time, it seemed as if his dominant reign might be under duress.Fast forward twelve months and the long time champ has put that theory to bed with a brilliant and partially arrogant win in the Gp1 Stewards Cup.The step up to 2000m is a legitimate discussion point with ROMANTIC TOUCH to benefit from the rise, but his turn of foot should settle it at the end.
#2 ROMANTIC WARRIOR was the ants paints on International Day with a breathtaking victory in the Gp1 Hong Kong Cup.The handicaps tell us there's only inches between the two heavyweights pound for pound so it should be marked down as the quinella of the day.Karis Teetan realises his decision making at crucial points shall sort the end result, so perhaps he makes an early bid for victory.
#3 TOURBILLON DIAMOND arrives fresher than the rest with a ten week break between runs. The two time Gp3 winner won a 1600m trial earlier this month and was powerful all the way to the line. His record against the cream tells us he's up against it for the win, but plenty of juicy prize money is still going to be won.
#6 GLORIOUS DRAGON was off the scene for a lengthy period due to injury before returning under the guidance of new trainer Pierre Ng.His effort in the Gp3 Centenary Vase, under a big weight, was both encouraging and gutsy with the additional distance to help.A career best performance is necessary to finish top four and that is on the cards.
#4 KA YING STAR shall work over from the wider draw and keep MONEY CATCHER honest in the battle for the lead.Together, they'll ramp it up coming off the back before pushing hard down the straight to the judge.Fending off the power from the superior opposition is an unenviable task, but both generally give there best.

Race 9

"Hong Kong Classic Cup"
 (2nd Leg - 4yo Classic Series)

#4 TUCHEL was superb in defeat behind runaway winner VOYAGE BUBBLE and is now ready to turn the tables. As mentioned previously, he was underdone going in to the Hong Kong Classic Mile after a set back caused him to miss a crucial preparatory run. With that now behind him, and Purton back aboard, he'll save every inch of ground from barrier one and thrive on the distance increase to 1800m.
#8 SUPER SUNNY SING has been a revelation the last three months and arrives at his toughest and most lucrative test with all guns ablaze. The jockey booking and barrier draw are in his favour along with his own personal sectional capabilities, but whether he can cope with the rise in trip and oppositional talent is literally the million dollar question. With the Derby on everyone's radar it'll be fascinating to see how it all unfolds.
#2 VOYAGE BUBBLE was given a brilliant front running ride to win the Hong Kong Classic Cup and that'll be the plan again.ENCOUNTERED and SINBA are the only new inclusions capable of softening the lead but both have drawn out wide. The option to take a sit is likely from the excellent draw but whether that's desired, and beneficial, only time tells.
#5 SWEET ENCOUNTER shall want a good speed to run at and that's a possibility of unfolding. The inside draw didn't help during the Hong Kong Classic Mile but the middle pin today
is far more attractive. He can settle a pair or two closer before draggier in to the race nicely off the speed. The 1800m also holds no concerns following a win on International Day last December.
#1 KEEFY performed poorly and well below his best in the Hong Kong Classic Mile but remains on ratings alone, the horse to beat.At the end of November last year he destroyed a quality class 1 field with some incredible sectional data over 1600m.He's been unable to reproduce that level since, suggesting he's on the downward spiral, but if he bounces back you'll be wishing you had him in.
