In the 2m1f Class 3 Andy Blight And His Amigos Handicap Hurdle (2:25), Coolnaugh Haze has been knocking on the door since the start of the season and recorded a head second at Warwick over two miles two weeks ago. In an open contest, he looks capable of breaking through for a win despite uninspiring form figures from the stable (0-2 in last 14 days).

Six of the seven runners in the field have previously won over the distance yet Valentino Dancer's form over track and trip appeals (1-1). He weakened into last of five when returning from a long break at Chepstow and is entitled to improve for race fitness.

It appears three of the five runners in the 3m2f Class 4 Newton Abbot Racecourse On Facebook Handicap Chase (3:00) hold a good chance and Hurricane Vichi looks capable of winning.

A second in a point-to-point, he makes his chasing debut after a fair fifth in a Uttoxeter novice handicap hurdle. The horse underwent wind surgery in early March and remains open to progression.

Lord Bryan may have been pulled up on four of his last five outings but his form when completing is strong. He recorded three back-to-back victories over the summer jumping period last season and continues to drop through the ratings. Joe Tizzard's Investment Manager was a beaten favourite when fifth in handicap chase company at this track last time. He didn't jump well and a better performance would be expected.

Jennie Candlish's Basford was tipped up when winning over course and distance last week and can add another victory in the 2m5½f Class 4 Racing Partnership Novices' Hurdle (3:00).

His experience offers a major advantage over lightly raced rivals and a better round of jumping could see him dominate.

In the 2m1f Class 5 Talk Tidy Marketing Handicap Hurdle (3:35), top-weight Hunting Percival out-ran odds of 80/1 when finishing second over a shorter distance at the track.

He's been rejuvenated by a short stint point-to-pointing and a big run would not surprise on his third start since switching yards.

A winner on her sole start in a bumper, Dancingontheedge is chasing an elusive first hurdles victory in the 3m2½f Class 5 newtonabbotracing.com Mares' Handicap Hurdle (4:10).

She's placed twice for Freddie Gingell in the past and was only denied by a neck when second at Uttoxeter in a novice event last time. This will be her first try at a trip further than three miles and the mare is expected to enjoy the stamina test.

Chief Black Robe will be chasing a hat-trick in the 2m5f Visit attheraces.com Novices' Handicap Chase (4:45) whilst Gregorian Diamond is expected to improve from a recent third at Stratford-on-Avon in the three-runner 2m1f Class 5 NewtonAbbotRace On Twitter Open Maiden National Hunt Flat Race (5:20).
