The Andrew Balding-trained colt is due to return to seven furlongs for the first time since his seasonal reappearance in the Group 3 Greenham Stakes and will be partnered by Oisin Murphy for the first time.

Chaldean was last seen finishing a well-beaten second behind Paddington in the Group 1 St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot and has a proven record over seven furlongs, having won four times over the distance as a juvenile.

Chaldean is expected to re-oppose with St James's Palace third Charyn in the Group 1 Prix Jean Prat.

Speaking with Nick Luck on the Nick Luck Daily Podcast, Juddmonte racing manager Barry Mahon confirmed the booking: "If everything is going okay with the horse and Andrew's happy with him tomorrow morning, the plan will be, hopefully, to run in Deauville and as far as I'm aware, Oisin Murphy will take the ride.

"Oisin is a top-class jockey and he's part of Andrew's stable and we'd be delighted to have him on board."
