Meantime at Oaklawn Park Skippyongstocking had a soft win in the 1800m Oaklawn Handicap.  Firstly I owe the horse an apology as we referred to him using the feminine in the preview.  He is definitely masculine and has all the right bits to prove it.  Anyhow he looked full of enthusiasm before the race and carried that into the race giving Jose Ortiz some work to do to settle him but once in the straight he set sail and it was all over.  Highland Falls was second and Red Route One third.

At Keeneland Charlie Appleby's American stable is starting to get some top results and this was the case in the Elkhorn which was won by their Silver Knott on 6/1 with Flavian Prat the jockey,  Missed the Cut was second giving the Ortiz brothers the quinella and the other Appleby runner Bold Act, who had started favourite, was third.
