Zac The Champ

Halfway through Sunday's racing Zac Purton had the Jockeys Championship in his grasp.

He finished up with a 5-timer which included the two G3 races and a total for the season so far of 160.  John Size has taken out the trainers championship also.

Sunday saw the last of the Group races at Hong Kong for this season.  The first was the Premier Handicap over 1400m which was virtually a gift for Beauty Eternal as there were only six runners!

The Premier Plate was over 1800m and went to the favourite Tuchel, another Size-Purton success.  Next best was The Best Peach who played up going into the gates but fortunately had enough gas in the tank to take second, with Spirited Express going third.  A lot of these runners would prefer a longer trip but with the end of the season approaching they are going after whatever money they can.

We'd like to give an honourable mention to Karis Teetan who rode his 600th Hong Kong winner.
