From last to first for Belpine Miss

Belpine Miss put in one of the best runs of the night coming from the tail of the field and storming down the outside to win the 0-62 (1220m) and in doing so probably put lots of punters out of the quadrella starting at $21.

Trainer Barry Baker and his daughter Chelsea who rode the 5yo, walked the track last night and again today, deciding that coming wide in the home straight was the place to be.

"Everybody is probably going to go there now but this little mare has got plenty of ability but just keeps running into bad luck," the trainer said.

"The prep went a bit AWOL because she doesn't handle a soft track, here on Good Friday the track was that bit damp and she didn't go a yard."

Inform mare Seydoux ($1.45) got punters back on track when she made it three wins from her past four outings with an all-the-way win in the BM68 (1220m) scoring by almost 3 lengths.

Trainer Adam Trinder took advantage of 3kg claiming apprentice Lauryn Bingley who made a winning debut for the powerful North West based stable.

"It's her first ride for me, she didn't fight her, just flowed with her allowed her to balance up and breath so quite impressed with that, she is putting in the work and reaping the rewards," Trinder said.

Seydoux has now won seven of her 21 starts and is likely to campaign on the Devonport synthetic track over the winter months.

After a frustrating run of placings, the past couple in stronger company, Bloomtime ($2.20) broke through for an overdue win in the opening event a (1220m) maiden. Jockey Anthony Darmanin got the 3yo into a lovely trailing spot and upon straightening it was obvious the favourite was going to overhaul Tough Impact ($18) who held on to run second and Miss Tanzanite ($4.00)  a close third.

"Rapt to finally get a win with her, she's probably been through unluckiest horse I've ever had. Her first couple of starts were a little bit disappointing but now she has really worked it out," trainer Liandra Gray said.

"It was a perfect ride, we were a little bit worried about the barrier but he got the job done."
