We kick off on Friday with a nine race card that will be headlined by the running of the Listed Scone Cup.

A full field will assemble for the $200k prize money on offer and also a guaranteed place in the $3m The Big Dance that will be run at Royal Randwick on Melbourne Cup Day.

We've had a close look at all nice events on the program and our thoughts can be found below.

RACE 1 - 11:35PM: SELECT EVENTS COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN PLATE (1300 METRES)

Conspirator has just had the one race start and there was plenty of merit in his performance.

Over the 1000m at Muswellbrook the locally trained galloper was always wide and exposed but still charged home strongly, only to be denied by the barest of margins.

The rise to 1300m looks ideal for this son of Japanese sire Daiwa Major and from gate two he's drawn to receive all the favours under Aaron Bullock.

RACE 2 - 12:10PM: SCONE RSL MAIDEN HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

Tulle returns to the races.

The Godolphin mare just had the three runs in her first campaign, finishing third on each occasion but she showed good improvement with every outing.

She comes here off two very pleasing trials, her most recent she won easily and looked to have plenty in hand.

Zac Lloyd has partnered her in both trials, he takes the mount here and with any luck form the wide draw, she should be right in this.

RACE 3 - 12:45PM: WIDDEN CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

Wembanyama is building a tidy record and comes off a narrow defeat on the Kensington.

After settling in behind the speed he picked up strongly over the final part but just couldn't reel in the leader.

A son of Dundeel, he looks well suited here up to the mile and gets the blinkers on for the first time.

Sam Clipperton goes onboard for John O'Shea and barrier seven will see him afforded him every chance.

RACE 4 - 1:20PM: PRYDE'S EASIFEED CLASS 1 HANDICAP (1100 METRES)

Pisanello was only narrowly beaten when resuming at Wyong and will have taken good benefit from the run.

From the outside gate the Ribchester gelding was always wide but still finished off strongly in the heavy 10 conditions to just go down by a nose.

He showed good ability in his first campaign and looks to have come back bigger and better.

He should enjoy getting out onto the bigger track here and Adam Hyeronimus will again do the steering for James Cummings.

RACE 5 - 1:55PM: INGLIS 2YO CHALLENGE SW (1100 METRES)

La Pleine Lune could not have been more impressive when making her debut during the Warrnambool carnival a little over two weeks ago.

The daughter of Puissance de Lune had performed well in an 800m jump out prior and over the 1200m on raceday, she took up the running and continued to extend her margin over the final stages to record a nine length victory.

The runner up has since gone on to salute, franking the form.

She will have taken good natural improvement from the run and has drawn to receive every chance under Regan Bayliss.

RACE 6 - 2:30PM: LION CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

Emmadella was doing her best work late over the 1100m at Canterbury last start and will relish getting out over the extra trip here.

The daughter of All Too Hard has performed well in all six raceday appearances and the form around her is solid.

She strips fitter from that first out outing and drops back from BM72 grade.

Aaron Bullock takes the mount for John Thompson and from the draw he should be able to slot and find cover and that will see her finishing off strongly.

RACE 7 - 3:05PM: NEWGATE CLASS 2 HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

How Dare You resumes.

Prepared by the Godolphin powerhouse, the Zoustar filly didn't show a lot in her first few runs but she really started to put it all together last time in.

After recording her maiden win over the 1250m at Canterbury, she had no luck at Rosehill, working to the line under a hold.

She returned in December for just two starts and was placed on both occasions and she comes here off two solid trials.

Zac Lloyd has partnered her raceday on just the one occasion and they combined to salute, he goes back in the saddle and will afford her every chance from the good draw.

RACE 8 - 3:45PM: DARLEY SCONE CUP LISTED (1600 METRES)

Nugget resumes off a six week freshen up after finishing a close fourth in the Group One Doncaster Mile.

Held up in the early part of the straight, he burst through the middle to split the placegetters, finishing just .7 of a length off Celestial Legend.

The seven year old son of Siyouni was solid when resuming over 1400m in the Futurity Stakes and just looked in need of the outing at his subsequent start.

With the three runs under his belt along with a recent 1200m trial, he comes here in peak order.

He'll appreciate the drop back in grade and Dylan Gibbons goes in the saddle for Ciaron Maher in the Scone Cup 2024.

RACE 9 - 4:25PM: VINERY COUNTRY CUP BM84 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

The Dramatist just found the 1000m too short when resuming here back in March but the Shamus Award gelding was still doing his best work late.

He looked a winning chance on paper when stepping out to 1300m at Narromine at his following start but his rider was dislodged after her stirrup snapped during the run.

Despite the mishap, he got around safely and still would have taken good benefit from the outing.

Prepared by Rod Northam, the five year old does race particularly well here at his home track and the 1400m looks ideal.

Reece Jones has built a great association with the gelding, guiding him to all four victories and he'll again do the steering.
