Race 1 - 12:50PM BOWERMANS HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

8. Queen Astrid was more than handy when resuming at Kembla earlier this month, and she made her run in the inferior ground. Now with Brad Widdup, fitter for the run and if she can make some use of the inside alley she has a good chance to break through.

Dangers1. Oriental Tycoon has five placings from six starts and had his first run for Chris Waller when run down over this trip at Newcastle in a maiden. Did have his chance there but only beaten half a length and sure to have upside. Capable of winning. 3. Territory Express was a beaten favourite when running on from well back at 1850m at Newcastle then took off in front up to 2000m at Rosehill and weakened. Not sure what to make of the distance drop but has the talent to win a race. Have to include. 6. Came Around is worth keeping safe. Was a drifter in betting and had cardiac arrhythmia when running last on debut at Newcastle. Trialled twice since then including behind Mirra Vision last week. Check betting.

How to play it: Queen Astrid E/W ($7.00 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: SPLIT.

Race 2 - 1:25PM TAB HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

19. Rhesus went under as a $1.65 favourite at Geelong back on Boxing Day but looked a different horse cruising in his recent Hawkesbury trial. Have to respect that starting price at his debut and from a handy enough draw here is well worth keeping safe.

Dangers11. Piercing Arrow trialled quite well at Randwick two weeks ago, he was run down by Make A Call in the last few strides and made that horse work for it. Expect he will make use of an inside gate and be right on speed. Go well. 10. Need Some Luck is another debutant who is trialling impressively and he's picked up from off the pace to win over the short course in his past couple. Half brother to Chautauqua. Drawn wide but this start is very fair and he should be competitive. 13. Stand Aside was solid in betting at his first start here two weeks ago and closed off well for third. Firmer track here and 1200m should suit. Definite chance.

How to play it: Rhesus E/W ($6.50 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: ODDS.

Race 3 - 2:00PM PALACE PIER @ DARLEY HANDICAP (1200 METRES)

10. No More Lies fought hard on debut here two weeks ago when narrowly beaten by Fleetwood, running right up to her solid trials. Fitter for that and while taking on three-year-olds as well here she is a good chance to go one better.

Dangers8. Rhesus has dual accepted for this race and he'd be the logical danger if he runs here. Plenty to like about the trial leading into this race, which he could have won easily, and given he started long odds-on at his debut he is worth another look. 4. Outsider hasn't done a lot wrong in three starts for as many placings, all at 1400m. Whether the 1200m is a touch sharp remains to be seen but she can't be left out of the chances. 6. Siglo De Oro is an interesting first starter from the Maher/Eustace team. His trials haven't really stood out but respecting they've found James McDonald to ride.

How to play it: No More Lies WIN ($3.50 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: EVENS.

Race 4 - 2:35PM HEADWATER @ VINERY STUD HANDICAP (1300 METRES)

7. Anagain has won just one from 15 but she's racing very well of late and drops in grade on her closing third at Rosehill second-up. Started a $6 chance there and lands in a race with less depth. Home track, 1300m ideal. This would be her best chance for a while to post another win.

Dangers6. Elettrica was never a factor when resuming at Scone which is a bit unlike her but she can improve quicky back in class and up in distance. Generally she's a consistent mare and she trialled well leading into her first-up run so no surprise to see her bounce back. 8. Sirens Star is only lightly raced and enjoyed a handy preparation which included a Canterbury win in November. Wound up well in her latest trial and has each-way claims. 1. Pretty Wild comes through the same race as Anagain where she ran seventh. Needs to find a bit of form and has every chance to do that here.

How to play it: Anagain WIN ($2.70 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: SPLIT.

Race 5 - 3:10PM DUNDEEL @ ARROWFIELD HANDICAP (1400 METRES)

14. Step Aside has been well found for a horse coming out of a narrow maiden win but it was quite a solid effort after giving away a big start at Kembla. Runner-up has since won and there was a big gap to third. Kinder draw here should see him race closer and he can measure up.

Dangers12. Cream Rises is now with Clarry Conners and his two trials suggest he's ready for a cheeky first-up showing. Fireburn ran him down in the first then held together in a second to Space Tracker, an import, last week. Keep in mind. 5. Vintage Choice had support in betting and performed okay at his Australian debut at Scone when midfield over 1300m. Drew wide but had a nice run on the fence into the straight and shaped as though he'll want further. Keep safe. 2. Philipsburg is an honest gelding fresh and he slid home well in his trial at Hawkesbury recently. Hasn't won first-up in the past but he's the type that could sneak into the finish somewhere.

How to play it: Step Aside WIN ($3.00 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: EVENS.

Race 6 - 3:45PM PROVEN THOROUGHBREDS HANDICAP (1600 METRES)

11. Tympanist is a horse that tends to need luck and he didn't get a lot of it first-up at Rosehill where he was close up in a Midway. He will appreciate the mile and if the race pans out in his favour he's more than capable of putting himself in the finish at each-way odds.

Dangers: 5. Touristic warmed up nicely late when he ran into second behind Semana at Kensington three weeks ago. Import who has threatened to win a race and he will be fitter for better suited up in trip. Definite chance. 3. Anythink Goes raced handy and proved too strong in a similar race last start and while he goes up 2kg for that win he stays in the same grade. Sure to be in this for a long way again. 7. Dream Hour hit the line full of running at Rosehill behind Rediener last time. Draw sees him give away a start again but if he gets the breaks he's sure to be finishing strongly again.

How to play it: Tympanist E/W ($11 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: ODDS.

Race 7 - 4:20PM THE AGENCY REAL ESTATE HANDICAP (1000 METRES)

1. Insurrection has a handy record and resumes with the benefit of a sharp trial win under his belt. Romped in when resuming at 1000m last prep in this class and went on to perform well up in grade. Well placed with the claim and should be in this for a long way.

Dangers5. Wingardium is back in class after contesting stakes races last spring and is also trialling quite well for a return. Not far off Iowna Merc in the latest trial. Winner here in October and draw can see her enjoy a run just off the pace. Threat. 13. Salire comes out of Highway grade but he's worth keeping safe as he can produce a big finish in his races and there's potential for reasonable speed here. Never in it at Gosford last time but the form is good from the race and he's an each-way hope. 2. Walkin'Talkin' only missed a place once in six runs last prep, for three wins, and was immediately spelled. Gets a handy claim here and can run well fresh again.

How to play it: Insurrection WIN ($2.30 TAB Fixed Odds). Odds & Evens: ODDS.
