Teaspoon will be prepared for the new season by Ron Quinton at Randwick while Frolic will miss the spring with her new trainer yet to be named following Freedman’s departure to take up a training contract at Sha Tin.

Teaspoon and Frolic were the stars of the Freedman team during his short training stint in Sydney following his return to Australia from his successful career in Singapore.

The Arrowfield Stud-owned and bred Teaspoon won her first two starts including the G3 Widden Stakes at Rosehill and was placed in the G2 Sweet Embrace Stakes at Randwick before she contested the Golden Slipper Stakes at Rosehill in March.

She failed in the heavy going in the Golden Slipper and was spelled after another heavy track flop in the G2 Percy Sykes Stakes at Randwick on April 8.

Teaspoon is currently in pre-training at Arrowfield Stud with Paul Messara and is due to arrive at Quinton’s Randwick stable later this month.

Freedman also qualified Frolic for a Golden Slipper Stakes start after she won the Inglis Classic and G2 Reisling Stakes at Randwick.

Frolic then finished second to She Will Reign in the Golden Slipper at Rosehill and seventh in the G1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes at Randwick.

She has since had bone chips removed from both knees and a return to training wil not be considered for the filly until later in the year.

"Everything went well with the operation but at this stage it's a step by step process," said owner Tom Kelly.

"She's spelling really well and looks fantastic. We're very confident she'll come back in good order."
