2018 PREMIER’S CUP - RACE HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

The Premier's Cup is a Group 3 race conducted by the Brisbane Racing Club as part of the Queensland racing carnival.

The Premier’s Cup was introduced in 2006 as a feature handicap that serves as a lead-up to the Brisbane Cup.

Since 2006 the Premier’s Cup has been run over 2200m at Doomben with the exception of 2015 when the distance was 2020m.

The 2018 Premier’s Cup will be worth prizemoney of $125,000.

Earlier winners of the Premier’s Cup include Theseo, Rezone, Reggie, Precedence, Zephyron, Faust and Real Love.

The 2017 Premiers Cup was won by Kaiser Franz from Zambezi Warrior and The Chairman.
