The Victorian-based rider teamed with David Jolly's pair of Moscow Red and talented sprinter Howl before Shamino wound back the clock to win the Wylie for the Phillip Stokes stable.

Thriving on a red hot speed set by the heavily backed Taunting, Shamino proved the strong horse late to win his first race for almost two years and give leading stallion Shamus Award a feature double in SA after Noname Lane won Wednesday's Balaklava Cup.

Price's brother Ben was also in the winner's stall in the opening race aboard Alpha Flight for the Richard and Chantelle Jolly stable while Lachlan Neindorf also had a double winning with Turfitt for bosses Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle and then I'm A Legend in the final race of the day.

MEANWHILE Sunday's Mindarie-Halidon Cup was taken out in style by the Ryan Balfour-trained Magical Ride.

Given a perfect ride by Alana Livesey, Magic Ride held off a fast finishing Kalamon to claim the country feature in front of a bumper crowd and gave the trainer/jockey combination the second leg of a double after Scarlett River scored earlier in the day.

It was also a memorable day for Gawler trainer Aaron Bain who had his first training double when Glacier Grey and Linda's Magic record a race to race double with Barend Vorster in the saddle.
