RACE 1 - 12:45PM Atkins Photography 21-22 GBJC Horse of the Year - Toyetic Maiden Plate (1516 METRES)

PRINCE TIKEA resumed with a good effort when 3rd behind The Great Baby at Balaklava. He wasn't far away behind the Alpha Flight and Aitch Two Oh at his first two starts in city grade and looks the one to beat from a middle gate. Stablemate VANITY STAR drops back in trip here and needs to lift on last time when up in trip. His first run here when 4th behind Melody Shine at Balaklava was OK. CALL TO ACCOUNT led them up and was OK on debut at Balaklava in the Melody Shine race, he drops slightly in trip and draws wide but looks a factor in a race like this. JUST JAZZ ran well at a price in the same race behind Melody Shine at Balaklava last start and must be respected. VIC REEL is a filly on debut for Peter Hardacre and must be kept safe.
SELECTIONS: 10 PRINCE TIKEA, 1 Call To Account, 6 Vanity Star, 8 Just Jazz
PLAY: Backing PRINCE TIKEA.

RACE 2 - 1:20PM Coopers Brewery Maiden Plate (1100 METRES)

GREY RIVER is resuming. She was placed at Murray Bridge on debut, specked behind Maximillius in the David Coles at G3 level and has trialled well for her return. She draws a gate, has been solid since markets opened and looks hard to beat. SOLAR BLAST has been placed in handy company at 2 of 3 starts, the latest when resuming behind Alpha Flight at Morphettville. He draws an inside gate and looks well placed in a race like this. TAN TAT BEAU is a former Victorian was narrowly beaten first-up here behind Big Shaq and that looks OK form for a race like this. CASHMERE INN is a former Victorian who was placed at Moe on debut and trialled OK for this. DON'T DOUBT DIVA is on debut for the Will Clarken stable and was runner-up in a recent Balaklava trial. TEQUILA SUNSET is racing well placed behind Alpine Fun and Baby Alex her past couple.
SELECTIONS: 11 GREY RIVER, 8 Solar Blast, 4 Tan Tat Beau, 5 Cashmere Inn
PLAY: Something on GREY RIVER.

RACE 3 - 1:55PM Contract Engineering Maiden Plate (1100 METRES)

PIERRE DE LUNE has jumped out well a couple of times ahead of his return to the races but has also been an acceptor a couple of times before being scratched recently. On ability he looks the one to beat but there could be a question mark of his fitness late. ANJOPIN has been placed at his past four, the latest behind Hallstatt at Morphettville. He draws the inside and is going to be right there in the finish and strong late. KATINA JOY ran well when 4th behind Baby Alex at Murray Bridge two runs back and then led when only grabbed late by Big Shaq here last time. She will run well. PINCHBECK was a well tried favourite on debut when 3rd behind Lancelotto at Murray Bridge and can run well here. PUNCHIN was specked at odds and ran well behind Sghirripa at Morphettville last time. BARDOUTES was OK first-up from a break behind Big Shaq here and getting on to an improved surface should be ideal.
SELECTIONS: 3 PIERRE DE LUNE, 1 Anjopin, 5 Katina Joy, 7 Pinchbeck
PLAY: Keen on PIERRE DE LUNE each-way.

RACE 4 - 2:30PM Gawler & Barossa Jockey Club Labour Day Cup Benchmark 62 Handicap (1719 METRES)

OH NO GEORGE was impressive coming from the back and wide to race past Wichita Lineman at Murray Bridge. He steps up in trip and looks a progressive type good enough to win again. MUFFLA was strong winning at Mindarie-Halidon last time. He drops back slightly in trip but is a winner here and should be in the finish again. TAKE ME NORTH has solid Saturday form for a race like this and was runner-up behind Moscow Red before another solid effort behind Exalted Ruth last time out. He draws the inside and drop back in trip. MELOLDY SHINE comes off a solid Balaklava maiden win and maps to get a nice run here. ROBE RAIDER resumes and was a winner here in April. LOMAX can run well here, GETOUTTHEWAY has a good record here but needs to lift on last time.
SELECTIONS: 7 OH NO GEORGE, 5 Muffla, 4 Take Me North, 9 Melody Shine
PLAY: Happy to stay out.

RACE 5 - 3:10PM Barastoc GBJC 21-22 Trainer of the Year - Ryan Balfour Class Two Handicap (1100 METRES)

SAVILLE was impressive getting over the top of So You Can at Morphettville three runs back and has chased home Taunting and Improvident at his past two. That's very good form, he draws a middle gate and looks hard to beat. CHOSEN BLONDE has plenty of talent and was placed at Caulfield behind Midwest in January. She's only won 2 of 27 (but has 11 placings to her name) and her fresh record is good. She can give this a big shake from her wide gate. JUSTAKIDD has a good record for a race like this. He was beaten 1.6 lengths behind Mac 'N' Cheese at Morphettville in March and is more than capable. COURAGEOUS HEARTS has been racing well and broke his maiden status beating Daunting Decision last time. He draws a middle gate and should be in the finish. KUNGKA MARU was narrowly beaten here three starts back and has been OK her past couple. LINAS MAGIC was good winning first-up in SA at Mindarie Halidon but will find this tougher.
SELECTIONS: 2 SAVILLE, 5 Chosen Blonde, 6 Justakidd, 3 Courageous Hearts
PLAY: Another good betting race, something on CHOSEN BLONDE if she drifts to an each-way quote.

RACE 6 - 3:50PM Hyland Sportswear 21-22 GBJC Jockey of the Year Barend Vorster Benchmark 56 Handicap (2121 METRES)

ARMAMENT was a Murray Bridge winner two starts back. His Mindarie Halidon Cup run was OK he draws out, but this looks a very winnable race and Jason Holder rides. FIAMETTE made good ground form well back behind Race Against Time at Warracknabeal last time out. She's only won the one race but jumps to the 2121m here and should run well. TRIANGULUM was good winning at Naracoorte last time and he gets in well here. MAKE IT A DOUBLE ploughed through the heavy ground to win here last time. He draws out but can roll forward and take catching again. PLAYBOY CHARLIE can run well in a race like this. SPACE EQUITY won a similar race two starts back at odds, likewise WOLF PRINCE who draws well.
SELECTIONS: 6 ARMAMENT, 7 Fiamette, 4 Triangulum, 1 Make It A Double
PLAY: Something on ARMAMENT and FIAMETTE.

RACE 7 - 4:30PM In Memory of Life Member Dulcie Cobb Rating 0 - 58 Handicap (1200 METRES)

ALPINE FUN was good finishing off strongly when 3rd beaten 1.5 lengths behind Dorothy Rose last start. She draws a nice gate and gets her chance to bounce back to winning form on a better track after dead-heating with Pretentious Lass here two runs back. MAGIC PHANTOM races well here. He was placed behind Old Time Rock and Elsa's Pride before running 7th behind I'm A Legend and should give this a shake with no weight on his back. BETTA EDDIE was perfectly ridden to win here three starts back and must be respected again. Likewise fellow local RUSTYDUSTYSUNSHINE has a good record here and was runner-up behind Obelos last time. REALITY CHECK was a Murray Bridge winner in February and was racing well before a break.
SELECTIONS: 6 ALPINE FUN, 4 Magic Phantom, 3 Betta Eddie, 11 Rustydustysunshine
PLAY: Keen on ALPINE FUN here.

RACE 8 - 5:10PM Happy 60th Mark Gevers Rating 0 - 58 Handicap (1516 METRES)

GOOD APPROACH was good running 2nd behind a well tried CHELIMO who led throughout last time and he meets the winner better at the weights here and deserves to break through. FIGHT FOR FREEDOM came from well back to win at Balaklava and races well here. MORE SHOTS was a Balaklava winner three starts back and she ran well behind Short Stories up in class at Morphettville last start. BRIABELLA was good first-up running 2nd behind Graceful Eagle and she strip fitter here. ACE ATTACK races well here and his fresh record is OK for a race like this. APPLIED made some ground behind Chelimo last time and likes this track and trip.
SELECTIONS: 9 GOOD APPROACH, 4 Chelimo, 5 Fight For Freedom, 12 More Shots
PLAY: Staying with GOOD APPROACH.
