2022 THE NIVISON - RACE HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

The Nivison is a Group 3 race run under Set Weights and Penalty conditions for four year old and up mares at Randwick conducted by the Australian Turf Club.

The Nivison is run over 1200m. It was first run in 1994 and was won by Aunty Mary.

The Nivison has been at Warwick Farm a couple of times but at Randwick for most editions.

It is named after the Nivison family. The race was run on City Tatt's day but was moved to Spring Champion day with the addition of The Invitation into the carnival. It is now a week earlier.

The Nivison was a Listed race from 1997 to 2012 then a Group 3 thereafter.

The 2007 race was not held due to the Equine Influenza break out.

The Nivison was worth $200,000 in 2022.
