Weekend wrap: Voorham's hot form continues

Teagan Voorham continued a brilliant November with three winners across the weekend culminating in her first South Australian Country Cup success in Sunday’s Clare Valley Cup.

Teagan Voorham has ridden nine winners for the month at a strike-rate of 22 per cent with Neva Doubt Us' Cup victory her fifth win from her past 13 rides and the fourth win aboard the Grant Young-trained veteran.

"To do it (win a Cup) with Grant (Young) on a horse that's been good to me is even better,'' Voorham said.

The race panned out perfectly for backmarker who appreciated a solid tempo up front before rounding up rivals and holding of Ritratto in the run to the line to claim consecutive Clare Cup features.

"This horse has done a good job to go back to back,'' Voorham said.

"They set a quick tempo, he can pull, credit to him I think the fast tempo set it up for us,'' she said.

Voorham had a riding double after winning earlier in the day aboard Field Of Steel, who was the second winner for trainer John Macmillan Leader's Pride won the opening race.

It also capped a successful weekend for the Macmillan team after Texan Windstorm made it three wins in succession at Morphettville on Saturday.
