Final hit-out for The Inevitable ahead of ASM

The Inevitable had his final piece of work before the $5m All-Star Mile at Moonee Valley on Saturday week, with a track gallop in Hobart on Friday morning.

With regular trackwork rider Tegan Keys in the saddle, The Inevitable was put through his paces alongside stablemate I'm So Cool who had David Pires aboard.

Trainer Scott Brunton said Friday's work will top off his stable star, with no fitness queries on the 7YO who will be having his seventh start for his campaign in the All-Star Mile.

"What he did this morning is what we expected, and we won't have to do anything major with him before the race next weekend," said Brunton following the hit-out.

The Inevitable will travel to Melbourne by plane and will stay at the property of trainer Tony Romeo when they arrive.

"We'll fly out of Launceston late on Wednesday night.

"Tony's property is great and it's very close to that of Paddy Payne's who we've used many times previously," Brunton said.

Brunton confirmed that The Inevitable has come through his most recent victory in the Hellova Street Stakes in great order, and with the final All-Star Mile field now locked in, he can start to think about how things may pan out on race day.

"A lot of the race will come down to track pattern and conditions, but we love Moonee Valley for our bloke.

"If there were a bit of rain it wouldn't hurt his chances and something in the five or six (track rating) range would be perfect."

For those unable to attend the All-Star Mile at Moonee Valley, the race will be shown on a big screen in the Ophir Doll Bar from 15:00 at Ladbrokes Park Elwick on race day, ahead of the big Group 1 Ladbrokes Tasmania Cup harness meeting that night (18 March).
