Chief Racing Integrity Officer Denis Borovica said the draw at Ascot became compromised from the time the mistake was made and the remaining barriers were redrawn.
"When the number five was drawn, the horse was incorrectly identified as Uncommon James instead of Massimo," Denis said.
"The stewards decided that in the interests of fairness and ensuring a level playing field, all positions which were affected as a result of the error must be redrawn."
The barriers following the second draw:
- Shades Of Rose
- Hot Zed
- Massimo
- Trix Of The Trade
- Kementari
- Bella Nipotina
- Resortman
- Overpass
- Bustler
- Western Knight
- Red Can Man
- Asfoora
- Uncommon James
- Amelia's Jewel
The first five horses drawn before the error have been unaffected: Bella Nipotina, Hot Zed, Shades of Rose, Resortman and Trix of the Trade.
A representative of KPMG conducted the second draw from the place which should have been taken by the connections of Massimo and all the following barriers in the standard random selection process.
