Jason Holder, who was aboard Another Award when narrowly beaten in the Group 1 Sangster Stakes seven days earlier, won five of the nine races including three in combination with the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas stable.

Holder kicked things off winning the Group 3 Sires Produce Stakes aboard Air Assault for Macdonald and Gluyas before the Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle-trained Tapinforpar proved too good a tick over thirty minutes later in the Autumn Series Final.

He made it three wins in succession when Manhatten Times regained winning form before winning the David 'DT' Thomas Provincial Series Final aboard the Grant Young-trained Santelmo Fuego.

Holder's day was capped when he again teamed with the Macdonald/Gluyas stable for a third victory in the Listed Adelaide Guineas with exciting filly Party Princess.

"These days don't come around too often,'' Holder said.

"We put our head down and work hard, the results come,'' he said.

Patrick Payne's Dunkel put his hand up as one of Australia's most promising staying prospects with the brilliant Derby win, giving Payne his fifth Group 1 victory as a trainer in the race he won as a jockey aboard Bullwinkle in 1994.

It was also a big day for Strathalbyn father and daughter training duo Shane and Cassie Oxlade winning the opening race with Sghirripa before Queman claimed the SA Sprint Series Final.

Interstate, Port Adelaide Cup winner Hasta La War was brave running third behind Lunar Flare in the Andrew Ramsden at Flemington on Saturday, trainer Sue Murphy also running second with Farooq in Sunday's Casterton Cup.
