EAGLE FARM June 3

RACE 1: (6) ZIMO (Value) – Has impressed with strong efforts at first two starts. Track and distance sure to suit.

RACE 5: (11) OSMOSE (Value) – Lightly raced import with plenty of scope for improvement. Ready to run to her best over this trip.

RACE 6: (6) CHARMMEBABY (Value) – Nothing more than a trial last time when never tested. Course and distance winner can improve sharply under these conditions.

RACE 7: (4) QUANTICO – Should have won first-up at Scone. Have to stick with him with J Mac taking the ride.

RACE 8: (17) AMOKURA (Value) – Rapidly improving filly. Looks made for this trip.

RACE 9: (12) RED CARD – Brilliant winner at Scone in fast time when she responded to a change of tactics. Can repeat.

ROSEHILL June 3

RACE 2 (11) SUSSU: Highway sprints are never easy but this sets up well for this resuming mare. Went out after winning three of her first five starts including a C2 Highway over this course and distance at her last appearance in November and has been well prepared through two strong trials. Drawn to stalk the pace and early market support gives you confidence as her smart Scone stable has reserved her for this when she had other options.

RACE 5 (1) GREBENI: Made an impression winning second up over 1600m at Warwick Farm where he posted strong sectionals under 58.5kg beating the subsequent winner Celestial Spirit. While that filly has the better of the weights this time it doesn't account for the scope for improvement held by this gelding as he is certain to appreciate the step up to 1800m. Expect him to settle back but he has the required turn of foot to make his own luck.

Race 6 (9) AL AABIR: Easy to make the case for this hard fit stayer to measure up to this Listed affair off his run of consistent form under big weights in restricted races over 2400m in Brisbane and Sydney. Sure to appreciate the drop from 57.5kg to 53kg after his luckless last start third on a Soft 5 over this course and distance when he was beaten only a head after being held up for clear running from the 300m. Rates to win as he at his best on top of the ground and benefits from the riding switch to a senior rider.

FOR VALUE

RACE 3 (10) DENETTA (Value): Rates well off her last fourth when she was the unlucky one in a similar field. Honest mare can make full use of her rails draw.

RACE 4 (13) NEWLEY WED (EW): Fitter for his recent runs and gets a significant gear change with blinkers on. Inside gate suits with the rail out 6 metres.

RACE 8 (18) TONY BE (EW): Steps up to 1800m third up. Ready to run to his best.

RACE 9 (14) ROBUSTO (EW): Cracking third in fast sectionals when second up at 1200m. Well placed going to 1500m with extra fitness.

TRIAL POINTERS

WARWICK FARM May 26: Unraced I Am Invincible filly SOUNDS OF HEAVEN jumped into the lead in her 798m heat and was eager to run as Chad Schofield kept her under restraint throughout the trial. Had plenty in reserve holding her advantage to the line while running the fastest time of all the 14 short course heats (47.30; 33.83). Has obviously improved since her first three trials early in the season.

GOSFORD May 26: Unraced Mikki Isle youngster PERENNIAL recorded his first trial win after two previous placings. Looks ready to go to the races after controlling his 1000m heat (61.97); 36.79) and having plenty in reserve through the line.

GOSFORD May 26: Maiden filly AMBERINA was unplaced in six starts for Mark Newnham but had previously won trials and looks to be a capable prospect for her new trainer Nathan Doyle. Settled third behind the leaders before peeling three wide from the 500m. Ambled past the leaders at the 200m and coasted home under a soft ride to score by four lengths in good time (61.39; 36.47).

HAWKESBURY May 22: Some nice 2YO prospects from the Godolphin stable took the eye. Previously noted pair COMMEMORATIVE and BALKANS confirmed their promise with strong trials.

ROSEHILL May 19: Bold front running grey FROSTY ROCKS was the star of the four heats over 1030m, showing again that he is set to make up for lost time after a long break of 15 months since he last raced. After his easy first-up trial win at Canterbury on May 5, he repeated with a an all the way win in the quickest of the four heats over the distance (63.30; 35.60) under another soft ride from Rachel King. The race fit EXCELLADUS also impressed with a strong win in his 1030m heat (63.56; 36.05) after sitting three deep. Bjorn Baker's lightly raced 3YO gelding O'TYCOON showing he has come up well with a strong win in his 900m heat (54.55; 35.06) after standing the leader a big start.

CANTERBURY May 5: AN excellent return trial by talented 6YO FROSTY ROCKS, doing it easily to lead and win his 900m heat (58.59; 36.81) in his first outing since he won at Randwick in February of last year. The big grey travelled well within himself to beat the classy Vilana in a strong heat.
