Trained by the late David Balfour at Morphettville, Obsidian Dragon won nine races and $419,600 in prizemoney during her 27-start career and will have two of her progeny - Seradess and Rose Quartz - tackling the sprint feature.

Seradess, a $50,000 purchase from the 2020 Magic Millions Adelaide Sale has banked her connections $558,020 winning five of her 18 starts.

Rose Quartz has earnt $359,100 in prizemoney from just 15 starts after she made $300,000 on the Gold Coast a year earlier.

The Mark and Levi Kavanagh-trained Seradess is owned in majority by South Australians and will be ridden by Blake Shinn as she chases a second Group 2 victory having claimed her first in the Tobin Bronze in Adelaide back in 2022.

Graeme Begg put the polish on Rose Quartz who will be ridden Michael Dee.

Added intrigue in the mare's feature will come in the form of last start Wylie Handicap winner Grey River from the Jon O'Connor stable who has booked Damien Oliver booked to ride.

There will also be some South Australian interest in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas with Adelaide mates Neil Anderson, Adam Rattley, Michael Krollig and Max Bourke part owning Scentify.

After dipping their toes into ownership water with tried galloper Litchfield County in Adelaide they took the plunge into the Justify colt with the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable.

The $125,000 purchase from the 2022 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale comes off a solid lead-up running third behind Steparty in the Group 3 Guineas Prelude and is marked a $19 chance with tab.com.au.

"Ben Allen was very taken by (his gallop on Tuesday), he said he felt amazing,'' co-trainer Ciaron Maher said.
