Browns eye playoff berth with win over Jets

With two weeks remaining in the NFL Regular Season, six teams have secured their spots in the postseason.

In the NFC, the San Francisco 49ers (11-4) and Detroit Lions (11-4) have won the West and North divisions respectively, while the Philadelphia Eagles (11-4) and Dallas Cowboys (10-5) have both secured January football in the East.

In the AFC, the Baltimore Ravens (12-3) and Miami Dolphins (11-4) will play in January, although no division titles have been secured as of yet.

The 10-5 Cleveland Browns are currently the #5 seed and take on the 6-9 New York Jets - who are already eliminated from contention - on Thursday evening.

Cleveland is a –7.0 favourite for the meeting, which could easily be expanded given that Trevor Siemian, New York's third string quarterback, is starting the contest. The Browns have won three games in a row since veteran QB Joe Flacco took the reins of the offense.

Flacco has rolled back the years throwing for over 311+ passing yards in three consecutive games and multiple touchdowns in all four of his starts, He has thrown seven interceptions in those four games however, so there are plenty of options on the players props markets. He's 5/1 to throw for 300+ yards, 8/5 to throw two touchdowns and 12/5 to throw a pair of interceptions.

His main target last weekend was wide receiver Amari Cooper who caught 11 passes for 265 receiving yards and two touchdowns against the Houston Texans on Christmas Eve. He has back-to-back 100+ receiving yard games, but will go against one of the best cornerbacks in the game Sauce Gardner on Thursday.

For anytime touchdown punt, tight end David Njoku has been in fine form in recent weeks bringing in four scoring passes and recording at least six receptions in his last three games.

For the Jets, it is tough to favour any of the offensive players on show with a third string quarterback commanding the offense. Siemian has played in three games in 2023 throwing for just 393 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions – not a recipe for success.

Second-year wide receiver Garrett Wilson has done his best in 2023 with a revolving door at the QB position. He has 88 receptions for 958 yards and three touchdowns this season and nine receptions in two of his last three starts.

Defensive player props to consider are Jermaine Johnson II to record a sack (47/20) and Michael Carter (11/1), Sauce Gardner (7/2) and Greg Newsome II (15/4) to record an interception. Cleveland are a 35/1 shot to win the Super Bowl.
