Lincoln Moore's Gawler Punt Preview: 14th February 2024

RACE 1 - 1:40PM Gawler Arms Hotel Maiden Plate (1719 METRES)

Sundogg has been bursting to win a race and was sent out an odds-on favourite at Port Lincoln when nothing went right beaten 2.6 lengths in 4th behind Danoro. He draws wide out of trouble and looks the horse to beat. Efficacy showed solid improvement at his second start when he was good through the line last time behind The Penske File at Murray Bridge and should appreciate getting up in trip. Corden has been racing OK placed at Murray Bridge two runs back behind One Sky Above Us and is another who should appreciate getting up in distance. Iconic Missile was placed at Strathalbyn two runs back behind Miss Vignette and jumps from 1350m to 1719m here.Artistic Gal had strong market support when 4th behind Devil's Dexter at Murray Bridge last time. Urban Boy is fitter for a couple of runs back and draws a middle gate.

Call It Quits resumes and was 2nd behind Soames at Murray Bridge before running 4th there behind Enciphering and spelled. He's trialled nicely, gets the 4kg claim from the inside and should go well. Rich Lady has been around the mark and was sent out an odds-on favourite when 5th behind Novus Actus at Balaklava last time. We'Ve Gotta Deel is a former NSW galloper who was a drifter at his local debut when beaten 2.9 lengths behind Adopted Son at Oakbank. Exalted Kate resumes and was placed twice last time in work. She has trialled well.Radiant Knight has been around the mark and comes off a 5.2 length 6th behind Desert Dancing at Murray Bridge.Inner Sanctum has made ground his past couple and is looking for the 1200m.

Kalbarri was placed behind In My Room before another solid effort when beaten 1.8 lengths behind A Samuari Mind at Murray Bridge last week. He draws well, that looks a strong form race and he looks hard to beat here. Stablemate Moon Treaty was runner-up at Murray Bridge behind Sir Reginald before a good run when 4.4 lengths 4th behind the smart Apache Discreet which also looks good form for this. The Journo had trialled OK before he made some ground in the same race beaten 5.5 lengths.Knight Dancer was placed at consecutive runs before he was well beaten in the Apache Discreet race last time.Zesty Spice is a local who has shown ability and draws well. The Last Dance was good on debut when narrowly beaten by Just Joking at Balaklava and strips fitter for one run back.

Super Valentine is a former Victorian who had nothing go right as a $1.45 chance at Strathalbyn before he was kept out of trouble on speed and bolted in by 5.8 lengths at Balaklava last time. This is harder and he has a big weight but should take some beating.The Ice Cutter was placed here five runs back before winning at Strathalbyn and comes out of the Cup there won by Second to Nun. He looks well placed after the claim. Warrandyte Road was well back but not match for Sandastan last time at Murray Bridge.Wolf Prince stuck on well behind Eight On The Dot at Oakbank last time, he draws out but can run well.

Yeelanna had been knocking on the door before breaking through at Balaklava last time when too good for Starlite Rebel. She's placed at three of her six runs here and has the inside barrier.Meg's Magic was a winner here three starts back and comes off an OK effort when 4th behind Thailess on the Parks. Baby Alex made very good ground at Murray Bridge behind In The Darkness two starts back and was then beaten 6.1 lengths behind Rising Legend there. Her best is right up to winning here. Not A Single Bid has won two of his past three and was too good for Tiny Rebel at Balaklava last time. Leon's Shout was good first-up from a spell when 2nd behind Lastar.

Wally West trialled up well before he found himself in a sticky spot and probably should have won when 4th behind Storm Voyager at Morphettville. He draws out of trouble, has been in the money at both runs here and he's the horse to beat. Free Beer resumes, he was a Morphettville winner on debut back in June at big odds, the stable is flying and h draws an inside barrier. Miss Subtly was 7th beaten 3 lengths in the Storm Voyager race, the blinkers come off here. Famous Knight was in the market was 4th behind Not A Single Bid at Balaklava. Pretentious Diva comes off a Strathalbyn maiden win, likewise Adopted Son won a maiden two runs back and Novus Actus scored at triple figure odds in maiden grade last week.

Crimson Vine is a lightly raced mare who was impressive first-up from a spell when she scored a dominant 4 length win at Murray Bridge beating Holmes. She draws out but looks hard to beat again here. Chelsea Cube was a good Murray Bridge winner two starts back, also beating Holmes, before he was beaten 7.4 lengths behind Billie Bronx in Saturday grade at Gawler. He draws the inside and should be in the finish. Mavette has been around the mark and is a winner here. He was a $2.60 favourite when 3rd behind Pool Pony at Morphettville two runs back before running 4th behind Rising Legend on the Parks. Shalaga is a former Victorian who was runner-up behind Aban at Strathalbyn at his local debut and then solid when 3rd behind Rising Legend at Murray Bridge last time. The winner has done so again since and he should be thereabouts. Gogolf Guru was well ridden to score at Strathalbyn last time.Private Jet was good running 2nd behind Snaptof at Mt Gambier last time.
