Australian Turf Club will provide free entry to Royal Randwick on ANZAC Day this Thursday and offer a range of discount food and beverage items as part of a special commemoration of servicemen and women on one of the nation’s most significant days.

Royal Randwick hosts an eight-race card on the Kensington Track and a full ANZAC Day ceremony including an Australian Defence Force catafalque party, minute's silence, playing of the Last Post, laying of wreaths and a reading of the ode and prayers at 1:30pm.

The ceremony will include jockeys and the NSW Jockeys Association, with ANZAC-themed colours worn by jockeys with the number 1 saddle cloth, and races named in memory of the ANZAC service and history.

Soft drinks from $2, James Squire Stride Low Carb Pale Ale and Tooheys New & Tooheys Old from $5 and Grant Burge & Tatachilla Wines from $6 per glass will be available along with free ANZAC biscuits and national themed retail food options.

The feature race of the day is the $150,000 ANZAC Day Cup with full fields for the Royal Randwick program available HERE with race 1 at 12:45pm and gates opening to all patrons at 11:45am.

Australian Turf Club CEO, Matt Galanos said ANZAC Day held special significance for the Club and Sydney racing.

"Anzac Day is among the most important and special days all year and its history and legacy for more than a century is closely tied to racing," Mr Galanos said.

"Racing was an important part of daily lives during the war years and ATC racecourses also played a vital role in housing defence personnel and equipment during major conflicts such as World War I and World War II.

"We pause to reflect and be thankful for the courage, service and sacrifice of so many Australian and New Zealand servicemen and servicewomen."
