NRL: Eels promise to come out fighting

Parramatta Eels are in desperate need of a response to the humiliating defeat against the Dolphins, when they face Manly on Friday night.

The Eels suffered a 44-16 defeat against the Dolphins and appeared to give up in the second half as Wayne Bennett's side ran riot.

Even head coach Brad Arthur described his team as 'part-time players' and it will be interesting to see how they respond to the criticism.

Parramatta are priced at 4.50 to make the top eight but there is a heap of work to be done if they are to play finals.

Manly are sitting pretty in fifth spot after picking up four wins this season, and they will be out to pile more pressure on their great rivals.

The Sea Eagles can be backed at 15.00 to go all the way and win the grand final.

Sea Eagles out for revenge

Manly's only defeat so far this campaign came against the Eels when the two sides clashed at CommBank Stadium in round three.

The Eels won by four points in a game that saw Manly have a try controversially disallowed for obstruction at a crucial stage.

Manly have bounced back well since then, while the Eels have headed in the other direction.

The Sea Eagles have been impressive this season, particularly at 4 Pines Park, where they have put on a total of 107 points over the last three games.

They will be out to keep the points flowing on Friday night and can be backed at 6.00 to beat the Eels by 16-20.

Manly have quality all over the park and the new halves pairing of Daly Cherry-Evans and Luke Brooks is looking good.

Tom Trbojevic is also back to his best and has scored four tries in the past five games.

The gun fullback is priced at 9.00 to score the first try of the game or 2.10 to score at anytime.

Eels feeling the heat

The Eels leadership group have sprung to the defence of Brad Arthur and say it is down to the players to put things right on the pitch.

Mitchell Moses being out of the side through injury has hit them hard, but there is still enough quality in the side to perform better than they are.

Parramatta have won four of their last five games against the Sea Eagles and they desperately need to make it five from six.

Manly are a different side this season however and it is a big ask for Parramatta to get the job done at a hostile 4 Pines Park.

If they do, it will be tight, and they are priced at 8.00 to win by 1-5 points.

Skipper Clint Gutherson will also be key and will be out to lead by example. If anyone can rally the troops, Gutherson can.

The star fullback has scored 40 points over the last four games against the Sea Eagles, and is 3.00 to score a try at anytime.
