Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Canberra Acton, Townsville, Scone, Port Augusta, Werribee, Albany and Cranbourne.

CANBERRA ACTON: RACE 4 @ 2:51 PM

CHOP THE ICE (10) resumed with a nose defeat at Albury on good going in a CL2. Has comparable figures from stronger races and tumbles 4kgs in weight today. Has been kept on the fresh side and is a course/distance winner. Proven second-up and from an inside barrier will be hard to beat. INCENTIVE (2) resumes for Canberra's premier barn and better to forgive his two outings before the spell. He's placed 3/4 fresh and has the speed to make short work of the awkward barrier. Trusting he will race more kindly than the last time we saw him in Canberra. ARTIE BEE (4) was quickly back on track narrowly beaten in a 66 at Moruya. Races forward and the 3kg claim brings him into it. I AM MAMWAAZEL (1) resumes and two-back was nudged out in a 72 at Warwick Farm. He was only beaten 1.8L here fresh prior over 1206m at this level. Has claims as well.
SELECTIONS: Backing Chop The Ice.

TOWNSVILLE: RACE 1 @ 12:59 PM

SIMPLE WAY (4) has been consistent without winning but is sure to have come on following that first-up fourth over this track and trip after a lengthy spell. Drawn to get all the favours from the inside alley and rates the one they all have to run down. BOLD TONTO (1) placed over this trip before the spell and has since tuned up for this with a recent Sunny Coast trial victory. Gets 1.5kg off with the claim and may run a race while fresh. HEEZA HUBSESSION (5) has placed two of three overall and looks to be nearing a maiden victory. Top-three conveyance. ENUFF STOP IT (11) next in line from the Jokic camp.
SELECTIONS: Simple Way to break through.

SCONE: RACE 7 @ 3:05 PM

HOW DARE YOU (3) Zoustar filly resuming after having mixed luck last time in. Will appreciate the drop in grade today and looks to get the right race set up. Fitted with two solid trials and will take plenty of stopping against this lot. RAPT (7) is at her top now after two encouraging runs back, including the latest third at Newcastle over 1300m on May 4. Quick backup suits from the good draw. GAGO (2) fifth-up for this and should appreciate the drop in distance. Failed to see the 1500m out when a plodding sixth over 1500m at Newcastle on April 24. Best form is over this distance range and look for him late from the sticky gate. KEIKOKU (14) trained on the track and gets every chance here fifth-up from the good barrier. Anchored with the 58.5kg when fifth over 1280m at Muswellbrook on May 3. Senior rider on and looks good each-way value.
SELECTIONS: How Dare You to win.

PORT AUGUSTA: RACE 5 @ 3:05 PM

AL RANCHERO (1) followed up his eye-catching first-up run with another solid chase into the placings at this track. Strips fitter third-up and is ready to fire. REGAL ROCKET (4) continues to find himself too far back but has managed to hit the line nicely in his last two. Can give this a big shake on best efforts. TINY REBEL (2) enjoyed a ratings spike here last start when lengthening nicely in the lane to get the verdict. Carries more weight this time but deserves respect. LADY DE LUNE (6) showed improvement here last start when battling on gamely into the minor placings. Fitter third-up and is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: Backing Al Ranchero to win.

WERRIBEE: RACE 7 @ 3:55 PM

RUBICON CROSSING (2) had a tough run at Cranbourne first-up and finished within range. Was narrowly beaten there following starting at a short quote. She has city form that more than stacks up and fitter she should have them covered. LASCARS (1) resumes off stronger city races and may have had excuses last time. He was an easy CL1 winner prior running along. Placed at Listed level when with Godolphin and can control this contest from an inside barrier. SAN MARINO (8) resumes and is sharp fresh. Owns a trial win and his best would see him in the finish. PROPHET'S CHOICE (9) is third-up in easier and has needed racing. She has plenty up her sleeve and Egan rides today replacing the 3kg apprentice.
SELECTIONS: Backing Rubicon Crossing to win.

ALBANY: RACE 2 @ 2:20 PM

LITTLE SILVER (3) rolled forward and stuck on well in a heat of the Provincial series, beaten 1.3L at Northam last time out. He ticks plenty of boxes today with the winkers going back on and heading into this race third-up where he's won 2/3. Just has to repeat what he did last time out to be winning. GALAXY AFFAIR (1) bolted in over 1400m two back before a narrow victory as favourite at Geraldton last time out. Getting back out to this trip should suit and Mahony's claim comes in handy. Can be prominent in the run and take plenty of catching. ROCK OF KAHA (4) was 1.8L off the winner last time out and he rates well on that effort. Four of his 8 victories have come at this course and distance and he'll carry no weight after the claim of Cooper. Can put himself right in the mix. CATCH THESE HANDS (2) has been racing well in town of late and he won over this track and trip three back. Include. STAR IN TIME (7) is in hot form of late and can be in the finish once again.
SELECTIONS: Keen on Little Silver.

CRANBOURNE: RACE 8 @ 8:45 PM

HYPEMAN (6) is coming off a dominant maiden win here at $1.50, scoring by nearly 4 lengths. He's always promised plenty of talent and maps well again here. Expect he measures right up to this grade. NIGHT PEOPLE (7) is also coming off an easy maiden win here, leading throughout to score by 3.3 lengths. No knock on that and he looks a clear danger. DAKARAI (2) is racing consistently around this level, beaten a length last time at Pakenham. Should get a good run just off the favourites and be competitive. JESSUP (3) was good here last time and is generally consistent in this sort of grade. Can figure.
SELECTIONS: Hypeman to win.
