It has been an indifferent start to the season for both clubs, but it is still very early days, and they remain in touch with the top of the ladder.

The Panthers are priced at 3.25 to win their fourth premiership on the bounce, while the Broncos can be backed at 4.50 to stop them.

The Broncos get the action underway when they travel to take on a Wests Tigers side that have shown great signs of improvement under Benji Marshall.

Meanwhile the Panthers face a tough test in Townsville when they take on the Cowboys.

They have however been handed a massive boost with the news that star playmaker Nathan Cleary has returned from injury, and has been named to play.

Broncos in need of away win

. What: Wests Tigers v Brisbane Broncos

. When: 17:30 (AEST), Saturday 27th April 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: Wests Tigers 4.00, Brisbane Broncos 1.25

The Broncos will be looking to cure their travel sickness when they head to Sydney to take on Wests Tigers.

Kevin Walters side have picked up four wins at home, but have yet to win away from home this season, losing all three.

However they do have a good record at Campbelltown Sports Stadium, winning their past seven games at the venue.

They can be backed at 6.50 to win this latest meeting by 16-20 points.

The Tigers cannot be taken lightly though. They have a great record against the Broncos, winning four of the last five meetings.

They have shown what they can do with wins over the Sharks and Eels this season, but have lost the last three on the spin and will be keen to snap the losing streak.

If the Tigers are to win the game, it will be close, and they are priced at 9.00 to win by 1-5 points.

Cleary back for Panthers

. What: North Queensland Cowboys v Penrith Panthers
. Where: Queensland Country Bank Stadium, Townsville
. When: 19:35 (AEST), Saturday 27th April 2024
. How to watch: Kayo, Foxtel
. Odds: North Queensland Cowboys 3.35, Penrith Panthers 1.33

Penrith are boosted by the return of star halfback Nathan Cleary as they look to pick up the points in Townsville.

In fairness, the Panthers have coped well without Cleary, winning two from three, but they will be delighted to have him back.

The Panthers have won five of the past seven games against the Cowboys, including a 44-12 victory the last time they met in 2023.

North Queensland sit 4-3 for the season, but have the second worst defence in the comp, conceding a total of 129 points in the last three games.

They were hammered 42-6 by the Sharks at the weekend and need to bounce back on home soil.

Even so, the Panthers are the hot fancies to get the job done, and are priced at 2.25 to win by 13+ points.

Panthers winger Brian To'o is also set to play his 100th NRL game and is 7.00 to cap the occasion by scoring the first try of the game.
