Australian thoroughbred TAB meetings are today held at Gosford, Grafton, Wangaratta, Northam and Pakenham.

GOSFORD: RACE 8 @ 3:55 PM

COSY CORNER (6) handy filly from the Perry camp returning from a four-and-a-half-month break. Will relish the drop in grade after running on late when fifth over 1200m here in the LR Gosford Guineas on December 28. Since fitted with two searching trials and should prove too good for these from the soft gate. BLACK ALEXANDRA (10) bounced back to form with a surprise neck win over 1000m here on April 25. Can sit off the fast tempo again and launch late. SMILING PROPHET (1) has four wins from 21 starts and holding her form well. Peaked third-up when a tough winner in the heavy (10) going over 1100m at Wyong on May 2. Up in weight but gets her chance from the inside draw. FLIGHTCREW (4) racing well this prep and chasing her third-straight victory today. Showed good gate speed when boxed on well to score a nose victory over 1000m at Kembla Grange on April 20. Expected to go close again.
SELECTIONS: Cosy Corner to win.

GRAFTON: RACE 6 @ 1:45 PM

WANJINA ROSE (5) has been in the money 2/2 this prep, both over this journey. Raced handy and was beaten a lip first-up in a similar race to this with 1.5kgs more than she has today. Maps beautifully up near the pace and at double-figure odds looks a terrific each-way play. STOINKA (4) last appeared when an easy all-the-way winner over 1310m at Ballina on 9 March. Trialled over 1050m at the Gold Coast recently so he should be forward enough. Capable of sprinting well while fresh. COOL FIZZ (15) caught the eye at Inverell last time when second-up from a spell, coming from near the tail on the bend to get up for second over 1050m. Worth including over her pet distance. FRAPPES (13) returned to form last start when edged out over 1410m at this track. Coming back to five furlongs is the query. DUSAN (7) has been freshened up since a decent return from a break over 800m at Ipswich 45 days ago. Lightly raced three-year-old with plenty of room for improvement.
SELECTIONS: Wanjina Rose an each-way special.

WANGARATTA: RACE 5 @ 3:00 PM

PEEL THE STICKERS (2) came off a short break with a pleasing effort at Bendigo last time. That followed an impressive win at that track. Looks nicely placed here and should go close. CROWN CRUSHER (9) ran below expectations at Pakenham last time after filling a place at Yarra Valley. A repeat of that run two starts back will see him go close here. TALLINGAS PRINCE (7) registered a solid win at Warracknabeal before finding the rise in trip too much last time. Is better placed here. Can bounce back. PROOINGA (3) has found form with a win at Deniliquin and a placing at Benalla in past two starts. Looks nicely off here and should make a bold bid.
SELECTIONS: Back Peel The Stickers to win.

NORTHAM: RACE 8 @ 6:30 PM

The gun hoop stays around to ride PLAY WITH DESIRE (1) and he's the one to beat in this contest. He made good improvement when nudged out at Ascot over a mile before a plainer run there over 1800m (vet cleared). Peaks now and he's placed 2/3 over this distance. FLASH DUCATI (3) found his best form winning here this grade/trip as an equal favourite. Gets more weight but it will be no surprise to see him repeat the dose. The veteran ZACKARIAH BEAU (2) is going better than the form line suggests. He's been around the market his last two in better races at Ascot and will get every chance from the handy barrier. HIS EMINENCE (7) went close over 1800m at Ascot in a CL3 quickly back on track. He will give away a start but will come late.
SELECTIONS: With Play With Desire.

PAKENHAM: RACE 5 @ 7:15 PM

THE JESTER'S SON (2) had been promising a decent win in his short career and delivered on it with an easy victory at Ballarat over 1500m last time out as an even-money favourite. Draws well here and finds another winnable race. DAY IN HEAVEN (6) has won her past two in easier grade and this looks like a logical next step. Should go well again. RED ON RED (4) is racing well, placing at his past two. He doesn't win many but drops 3kg here and should be competitive. TRIGGERIFIC (3) is a consistent type who is fresh for this and back in trip. Up to these at his best. ALMIGHTY WILL (1) is going okay and could sneak a place.
SELECTIONS: The Jester's Son to win.
