NEWCASTLE: RACE 2 @ 10:25 PM

CURL CURL (1) has been gelded and returns from a 32-week spell. Opened last prep with a very close third over this course and distance. Bolted in in a recent trial here so this lightly raced three-year-old looks set for a bright campaign. GODELBA (8) resumed in a similar maiden to this three weeks ago and worked home fairly to get up for third. Should take a lot from that run and looks the logical threat. IVY'S WAY (6) dropped right out when attempting 1100m for the first time at Hawkesbury five weeks back. Freshened up and more at home over today's trip so worth another chance. I'M BRAZILIAN (9) is in the mix first-up from a 16-week absence. Zoustar first starter ZOUBABY (10) looks above average based on a string of strong trials.

MT GAMBIER: RACE 1 @ 1:20 PM

DREAMZEL (7) was only caught late on debut after leading for most of the way and then was fifth as favourite at her next run before being put aside to mature. She will be suited to the short course trip here and will find the opposition easier as well. The 3-kilo claim makes her the one to beat. ENDLESS FAITH (5) did not have much luck at Oakbank last start but horses can always be forgiven for their performances on that track as it is very much a horses-for-courses venue. Her form prior was good enough to give her a chance to take this out. AMBELLO (1) has been trying to break through for a while and is resuming from a spell that would have done him the world of good. He has a handy gate and with form on the course, he won't be far away fresh up. Each-way. STOKKE (10) unraced filly by Rich Enuff out of Springalon. Yet to trial publicly. Watch for any market moves.

DEVONPORT SYNTHETIC: RACE 4 @ 2:29 PM

BARMAID GIRL (4) resumes and this is winnable if she's presented forward. She's trialled well and Newitt is a key jockey booking. Has a handy gate and goes well here. Finds the right race. ZIPITUP (2) brought strong form from Victoria and was narrowly beaten at Launceston. Races forward and has won on an all-weather track. Deserves another win and gets his chance. SHIM (7) has the ability and was quickly back on track at Launceston. Drops back to a shorter sprint but has a low barrier and keeps the handy 3kg claim. RING OF HONOUR (1) resumes and goes fresh and enjoys the track. Finally draws a low gate and keep safe.

GEELONG: RACE 7 @ 4:30 PM

SNIPPETY LEGEND (11) didn't have the best of luck on resumption at Sandown-Lakeside in a handy BM70 when fourth, beaten 2.9 lengths. He drops in grade for this and showed good ability last time in at Stakes level. Should go close. ETINCELLE (12) is a lightly raced 3yo gelding who had excuses when beaten at odds-on on debut here before atoning with a good win at Sandown-Lakeside. Shows promise and can win again. VIENNA VIXEN (10) is racing well and should take some beating again. GEORGIE GET MAD (1) next best.

IPSWICH: RACE 9 @ 1:38 PM

HELIKEDEMPRETTY (11) peaks and has been narrowly beaten twice at Doomben since the first-up win there. Keeps getting better and Callow sticks and will use the low barrier. Hard to beat. HURTS SO GOOD (8) didn't miss a beat resuming with a near miss at Doomben. Went back there after and didn't have the best of it from an awkward gate. Draws sticky again but Maloney sticks aboard the Gollan-trained galloper and he can feature with average luck. Stablemate RADIANT REMI (4) resumed in stronger at Eagle Farm and needed the outing. She will be much sharper today and has a low gate and handy 3kg claim. Keep very safe. KITRI (12) has been racing well at Doomben and is in the mix. PAIENBARA (3) resumes and has been tried at Group level. Usually needs one but he has good ability and might be presented more forward today. Worth a look at the price.

PINJARRA: RACE 5 @ 5:35 PM

CRUISE TO RIO (3) shed the maiden tag over 1406m last start and steps out in trip once again third-up. Should be hitting her peak now and further improvement is expected out in distance. Strong last start and should get all the favours from barrier 1 again. Can go back-to-back. MR BLING (1) ran on strongly first-up to be just 1.2L off the winner despite jumping a 50-1 chance. Strips fitter now and he should be suited by the rise in trip as he won over 2200m last campaign. Looks in for a good prep and can go close once again this time. LORD RANDOLPH (4) went for as spell after finishing well back over 1400m to end last campaign. He's now first-up over a mile without any public trials. Best form is good enough and he creates plenty of interest. DELTA ANNE (7) is better than she showed last time out and can bounce back. CHERRY CAN RUN (5) bumped into a good winner most recently and has claims.
