ADELAIDE v RICHMOND

Saturday 25 March @ Adelaide Oval

Another match up this week where a drawer takes on a loser from the opening round makes this quite an important fixture.

Adelaide may not ever have been thinking of Finals but losing that match against the Giants and the manner they did it will be one that got away.

To be up by as much as 5 goals and playing as confidently and aggressively as they were made all the right noises. They looked sharp and they looked so switched on.

That tackling, intercepting and domination created such a positive impression of them and a poor one of GWS.

But after Half Time the whole game swung. Sure Toby Greene and others jumped on board but Adelaide will be so annoyed that it was those who they all knew about that turned that 4 points.

It was also an extremely hot and humid day out West of Sydney. So when the tide turned, there was little hope of it being turned away.

Once the intercepting and backline control was lost, it also meant the flow to Rankine and Rachele slowed and goal scoring was restricted further.

Goal kicking was also restricted for Richmond when they began their quest on Thursday but that was for a differing reason. It was an arm wrestle.

Only 16 were kicked for the whole game and so while it was tight, interest was maintained. But the spectacle on the whole was lessened.

Is that the Tigers method all year or not? Pretty much doubt it would be. There are too many attacking weapons like Bolton and Martin and the prevalence of Riewoldt and Lynch for goals not to occur.

But what will need to happen is the midfield has to contribute and the others haven't always had that as their strongest of suits.

If they are not overcome by the impact of the conditions on Sunday then the Crows are in this if they play their best. Richmond looked in need of the run themselves but will have had three more days to prepare.

That could play a role late but the Tigers are the travellers here. These two have traded wins for a few years but never really had close finishes. Maybe the old TriBet system and take both to kick clear late.

Match Selection: Richmond by 19 points

Suggested Bets: Adelaide 16+ @ $3.60 & Richmond 16+ @ $2.10
