Joe Root have was also selected while Nat Sciver-Brunt is in both women's ODI and T20 XIs after an outstanding 2023.

Root amassed 787 runs at an excellent 65.58 last year while Broad ended his cricket career as England's leading wicket-taker in the Ashes, memorably sealing a 2-2 draw with his final delivery in the sport.

Broad and Root were the only Englishmen in the team which included Australians Usman Khawaja, Travis Head, Alex Carey, Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc.
Sri Lanka's Dimuth Karunaratne, New Zealand's Kane Williamson and Indian duo Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin made up the final Test XI.

Sciver-Brunt was England's player of the series as the multi-format Women's Ashes also finished all-square and she is the only entrant from her country to be included in the Women's ODI team of the year.

The all-rounder joins Australia pair Ash Gardner and Ellyse Perry and New Zealand's Amelia Kerr in being named in both women's squads for the year, with England spinner Sophie Ecclestone in the T20 team.

Perhaps unsurprisingly after a wretched World Cup in India, there are no England entrants in the men's ODI team but Phil Salt is in the T20 outfit after back-to-back hundreds in the Caribbean last month.

The ODI team featured six Indian players - Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Shami. The rest of the XI was made up of Australians Travis Head and Adam Zampa, New Zealand's Daryl Mitchell and South Africa duo Heinrich Klaasen and Marco Jansen.
