Harrison Endycott's tantalising chance to regain his PGA Tour card has had to be put on hold as bad weather forced the final round of qualifying school in Florida to be postponed.

Australian Endycott holds a two-shot lead entering the last 18 holes in the final stage of qualifying school after carding a five-under-par 65 on Saturday, the low round at Sawgrass Country Club.

But overnight storms in north-east Florida forced organisers to abandon hopes of playing the final round on Sunday, with the climax of the tournament now being put back until Monday.

Between 3pm on Saturday and 6am on Sunday, nearly five inches of rain fell at areas of Dye's Valley Course, with nearly four inches falling at the nearby Sawgrass Country Club.

"Unfortunately, both golf courses are currently unplayable and require extensive maintenance work due to overnight rainfall," reported Q-School's chief referee Harold Geyer.

"The golf courses received more than 4 inches of rain overnight, and today's forecast includes additional rainfall."

Only the top five finishers, and ties, get PGA Tour cards after the fourth and final round.

Sydneysider Endycott is well positioned to regain full status after finishing 139th in his rookie PGA Tour season this year.

He opened the event with the only bogey-free round at TPC Sawgrass' Dye's Valley Course on Thursday, a five-under 65, and has followed up with rounds of 68 and 65 at Sawgrass Country Club.

The 27-year-old has recorded just one bogey through 54 holes and is the only player in the field with fewer than four scores of bogey or worse through three rounds.
