Continued small swell and onshore winds have forced a second lay-day in the World Surf League's Hurley Pro Sunset Beach in Oahu, Hawaii.

After several postponed days, the Championship Tour's season-opener at Pipeline - about 1500m up the road from Sunset - was only completed on Saturday, so the lack of competition on Tuesday offers the chance of some welcome rest for the world's leading surfers.

Reigning champion Molly Picklum will hope to follow up her final appearance in the season-opener with a strong start in heat one, in which she takes on fellow Aussie Isabella Nichols and local favourite Gabriela Bryan.

American Caitlin Simmers took the honours at Pipeline and will face off against Brazilian Luana Silva and Australia's Sophie McCulloch in the women's heat two when the action gets under way.

Sally Fitzgibbons, Tyler Wright and India Robinson are the other Australian women in action.

Six Australians - along with Sydneysider Connor O'Leary, who represents Japan - will contest the men's competition, with Jack Robinson scheduled to be the first in the water when he takes on the USA's Crosby Colapinto and Deivid Silva of Brazil in heat two.
