Western Force itching to make up for round-one fizzer

Western Force have been left bitterly disappointed by their opening Super Rugby loss to the Hurricanes and are desperate to bounce back against the Rebels.

Wallabies halfback Nic White reckons the Western Force's first-round frailties can be fixed in a day, saying the players are itching to right the wrongs.

The Force were ill-disciplined and full of errors in Friday night's 44-14 Super Rugby Pacific loss to the Hurricanes in Perth.

The Hurricanes led 22-0 at halftime, and ended the match with six tries as the Force's lineout fell to bits in the final 20 minutes.

The Force missed 39 tackles compared to the Hurricanes' 12, and committed 16 penalties to their opponents' eight.

A third-minute yellow card to Harry Potter, and the same in the second half to prop Marley Pearce further complicated matters.

White is confident of a strong rebound by the Force in Friday night's second-round clash with the Rebels in Melbourne.

"It's going to be one of those weeks where the Friday night in Melbourne can't come quick enough," White said.

"Guys want to right those wrongs.

"We went away from a lot of our systems and processes (due to) the pressure, and they're quick fixes for us.

"It wasn't doom and gloom. We saw in patches that when we do it, it works.

"There's some quick fixes there that we can make. Seven days is way too long - we could make it in one day.

"Guys are going to be itching to right those wrongs on Friday night."

Force coach Simon Cron urged his players to stick to the process rather than over-complicating their approach.

"We know that there's a couple of 'rocks or diamonds' moments there where guys are trying to overplay," Cron said.

"We've just got to get that out of our game."

Cron was also unimpressed with his side's high missed-tackle count.

"That probably blows the score out a lot," he said.

"Some boys on the inside channel (were) just clocking off, and then they're too late. Just lazy."

White said it was important for the eager Force to pick their moments in attack.

"We've got some danger out wide, that's how we want to play the game - high pace, high skill," he said.

"We've just got to be ready that teams are going to be hard to crack.

"We're going to have to hang a bit tougher, because it's not all pretty out there.

"There's some big boys out there and we have to roll up our sleeves at times.

"But when we get those opportunities, we look pretty good."

Wallabies lock Izack Rodda, who missed round one due to a quad injury, is no certainty to return against the Rebels.

Captain Jeremy Williams (concussion) and Pearce (suspected broken nose) are also in doubt.
