Man City vs Chelsea tips: Order restored as Citizens sweep Blues aside

The Premier League title race is hotting up and we expect Man City to make no mistake as they sweep aside Chelsea at the Etihad on Saturday evening (1730 GMT).

Man City have casually reeled off 11 straight victories since squandering a lead late in the day against Crystal Palace.

That single lapse of concentration is the only thing that's prevented them from winning 14 on the spin, which is consistency Chelsea can only dream of.

The Blues have recorded back-to-back 3-1 wins over Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, but the latter wasn't as convincing as it looked on paper.

Mauricio Pochettino's side spent most of the game tapping the ball side to side at a snail's pace without any cutting edge.

Palace aren't a good measure of success given their current state but it does mean the visitors have won four of six in the league, albeit against unflattering opposition.

They failed major tests when losing 4-1 at Anfield and 4-2 at home to a resurgent Wolves, and a leaky defence isn't something you want to take to the Etihad.

These sides played out a 4-4 draw at Stamford Bridge earlier this season and since that day, Chelsea have conceded 2.12 goals per game.

City need no help as they've scored two or more in nine of 10 at home and have won each of their last three by two or more goals.

Shipping four goals in 90 minutes is probably one of the biggest departures from City's standards we've seen but we expect them to set the record straight here.

The hosts look prime to finish the season strongly and we're willing to bet there will be a few teams on the wrong side of a thrashing. Chelsea could be the first.

Team news

Joskvo Gvardiol has been ruled out while Mateo Kovacic, Jack Grealish and Bernardo Silva will be assessed in the build-up.

Kevin De Bruyne seems to be holding up well and should return to the starting lineup at the expense of Matheus Nunes.

Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Benoit Badishile, Romeo Lavia, Marc Cucurella, Robert Sanchez and Lesley Ugochukwe are unavailable due to injury.

Malo Gusto is expected to be fit for the weekend but Thiago Silva is doubtful after picking up a groin injury against Crystal Palace.
