Sheffield Utd vs Burnley tips: Last orders for the Clarets

Burnley are in the last chance saloon as they travel to Sheffield United for a huge Premier League basement clash this Saturday (1500 BST).

This is it! No, we're not talking about Michael Jackson's final concert. We're talking about Burnley's survival hopes. With just five games remaining, the Clarets need to start winning. It's as simple as that.

Vincent Kompany's side have certainly improved in recent weeks. In fact, his men have lost just one of their last six Premier League outings.

However, with four of those matches ending in draws, Burnley still find themselves a long way from safety. Six points to be precise.

Defence has been a real problem for the Clarets. With just two clean sheets this entire season, it's no surprise that Burnley have only won four Premier League matches this entire campaign.

Speaking of shocking defences, Sheffield United are up there. The Blades boast one of the worst defensive records of all time having already conceded 84 goals.

The actual record for the most goals conceded in a 38-match campaign is 89 which was set by Derby County back in 2007/08.

Considering we're only in mid-April, Sheffield United still have plenty of time to stamp their name in history books.

We're expecting Chris Wilder's men to edge closer to that record this weekend.

Burnley – unlike their opponents – see survival as a realistic goal. That vision will drive the visitors on to a rare victory. We're backing a narrow single-goal win for the Clarets.

Team news

Sheffield United will be without George Baldock, Chris Basham, Rhian Brewster, Tom Davies, John Egan, Daniel Jebbinson, Max Lowe and Rhys Norrington-Davies.

Burnley, meanwhile, are missing Ameen Al Dakhil, Louis Beyer, Luca Koleosho, Aaron Ramsey and Nathan Redmond.
