North Queensland galloper Fast Train was once trained by Gerald Ryan and now the former Sydney gelding looks well on the way to heading to Brisbane this summer for the Country Cups Challenge Final at Doomben in December.

The Country Cups Challenge for 2022 steps up a gear with two more qualifying races at Mount Isa and Longreach on Saturday.

It was a popular home town win for the Ryan family when former Caloundra galloper Fast Train claimed the Atherton Cup in Far North Queensland on Saturday.

Trainer Darryl Hansen is hopeful Bring It Home Pop can book a return ticket for the Northern Queensland Winter Racing Carnival when the gelding makes his comeback at Doomben on Wednesday.
