Moruya racecourse is located 300km south of Sydney on the NSW south coast and is the home of the Moruya Jockey Club. A growing racing and training centre, Moruya Jockey Club races 10 times each season with the feature Moruya and Narooma Cup meetings in January attracting big summer holiday crowds from the popular nearby centres of Batemans Bay and Narooma.

Being only 180km from Canberra and 200km from Wollongong, Moruya race meetings attract strong support from stables based in the National Capital and Kembla Grange. The racecourse is located near the mouth of the Moruya River opposite Moruya Airport and was opened in 1985 to replace the old racecourse, built close to the centre of the town in 1870 that in time came to share land with Moruya Showground and Moruya Golf Club. Moruya racecourse is an excellent all-weather track built on a sand base and is overlooked by excellent facilities and viewing areas. Moruya racecourse has a symmetrical circumference of 1760 metres with two long front and back straights with horseshoe turns. A long turn starting at the 900m leads into a 400m long home straight. There are chute starts for races over 1000m, 1400m and 1620m.
