The latest gavelhouse.com fortnightly auction is online now and includes a draft of 15 unreserved broodmares on account of Milan Park as part of a strategic reduction sale.

Established by Tony Rider in 2007, Milan Park started as a hobby and has grown into a successful business with Group 1 winners Adventador (Fast 'N' Famous), Irish Fling (Darci Brahma) and The Perfect Pink (Savabeel) bred at the Cambridge nursery.

"We are having a reduction sale to get our numbers back to the level we think works best for us," farm manager Grant Bennet said.

"We have had numerous young black type mares retire over the past two years and that has seen our broodmare band swell considerably.

"This unreserved reduction sale offers a fantastic opportunity for buyers to bid confidently knowing everything we are offering is for sale.

"Mares in foal to Almanzor, Super Seth and Ocean Park feature prominently as well as three in one packages with foals by Super Seth, Vadamos and Ardrossan are highlights."

The dispersal includes;

  • High Lady – by High Chaparral (Saddler's Wells), she is a three-quarter to Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) and Caulfield Stakes (2000m) winner Descarado. Offered in foal to Ocean Park (Thorn Park) and with a Time Test (Dubawi) filly at foot.
  • Irish Whistle – a five-year-old mare by Reliable Man (Dalakhani) who is closely related to Group 1 winners Mo'unga (Savabeel) and Chenille (Pentire), she is offered with her Super Seth (Dundeel) filly at foot and is back in foal to the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) winner.
  • Lady Pinot – a winner of three herself, she is by dual hemisphere Group One winner Starspangledbanner (Choisir) and is from a daughter of Grand Echezeaux (Zabeel). Offered with her Super Seth filly at foot and back in foal to the Caulfield Guineas winner.
  • Turquoise Coast – a Zabeel (Sir Tristram) mare who traces back to Eight Carat, she is offered in foal to Almanzor (Wootton Bassett) sire of Group 1 VRC Derby (2500m) winner Manzoice.

All told there are 69 Lots in the sale ranging from weanlings through to broodmares with bidding set to close from 7pm (NZT) on Monday 3 April.
