Subtitle (Fastnet Rock) topped Wednedsay's Inglis Digital May (Late) Sale when bought for $225,000 by Castle Bloodstock and will now be covered by Widden Stud's new stallion Jacquinot (Rubick).
Offered by Coolmore, Subtitle, who is already the dam of dual Group winner and Group 1 placed gelding Rock (PIerro), was purchased on behalf of Lindsay Maxsted, a part-owner of Jacquinot.
"I've stayed in the ownership and wanted a high-quality mare to send to him first up and I think Subtitle is exactly that mare,'' Maxsted said.
"You can always find these quality mares on Inglis Digital, every sale there is something there and I'm just thrilled to be able to buy Subtitle.
"She's been a great producer already, with Rock a Group 3 winner and Group 1 placed and Femme Fireball a Stakes horse too so I'm confident she will continue to produce the right type of horse with a Jacquinot mating.''
Subtitle was offered in foal to Coolmore's Home Affairs (I Am Invincible).
"I love Home Affairs, I think he's going to be a standout stallion so to have one of his first foals coming in the next few months is very exciting,'' Maxsted said.
Coolmore's John Kennedy added: "It's a fantastic result, she's been a fabulous broodmare to Coolmore over many years and two of her past three foals have realised $400,000 and $300,000 at Easter and Classic respectively so I'm sure Lindsay is in for a treat with her."
Wednesday's second-top lot will head to Singapore after Bevan Smith went to $150,000 to secure three-year-old gelding El Padrino (Street Boss).
The Ciaron Maher Racing-offered Listed Inglis Nursery victor (1000m) El Padrino has raced 12 times for one win and two placings and will now be trained by Michael Clements in Singapore.
"El Padrino, he just fitted the mould for up there – he's already a Stakes winner, he's by a stallion in Street Boss that we like and whose progeny are going well up in Singapore, he's very clean and been well looked after by Ciaron Maher and Dave Eustace, he vetted out extremely well which is really important so we're delighted to get him," said Smith.
A total of seven horses sold for six figures and the sale grossed $2,537,800.
