Who do we like?

Apache Cat at his best would beat a 9YO Takeover Target but recent evidence suggests he is far from that.

I can't have the Cat on his latest run.

Danny Beau is the one on the up and IMO will prove the biggest obstacle for TT. He excels at the track, is in blistering form and finally gets his shot at the big-time.

In saying that it's hard to go past the old marvel. A consistent champion for many a season, TT may be a length or two off his former best but there is no denying his champion qualities.

I expect these qualities to pull him through when challenged over the final furlong.

Tips:

1st. Takeover Target
2nd. Danny Beau
3rd. Apache Cat

The Forum's Greatest Asset

Cheese

The forum is merely a canvas.

A blank piece on which an artist crafts his work.

So what I want to know is this –

who is this artist? who is the forum’s greatest man?

I’m seeking the greatest contributor, the most knowledgeable, the wittiest, a man who leaves the forum chomping at the bit after he constructs another brilliant post.

Give me your top 3, if you will.

Belong to Many - Big Win!

What a huge win by Belong to Many today.

Never in doubt.

Has a big future in store.

Cox Plate '09

Cheese

With a plethora of great racing minds on this forum, I'd like to see if someone can frame a rough early-market for the 2009 Cox Plate.

Yes, it's just been run and won but next years edition has the potential to be something special.

Will the Hussler be tried over the 2040 a year on?

Will Whobegotyou continue his rise and race himself into the history books?

Will Sammie Miss try again as a 4YO?

Can El Segundo do a FOO and join the illustrious ranks of dual winners?

Is there a star in the current 2YO crop who has the potential to win it as a 3YO?

Frame me a market, if you can.

It would be interesting in 12 months time to see if anyone was in the ballpark.

Hot Rodd

Cheese

Has cemented himself in the upper echelon of Australian jockeys.

Have thought for a long time he would develop into one of the nations premier hoops and no doubting it after today.

Doesn't let the big occassions get to him, he thrives on it.

Has formed a formidable team with Kavanagh which will surely only strengthen in years to come.

A Mad Rush to the Cup

Cheese

There's only one horse I want to be on in the big one.

What a super run.

Should start favourite come race day.
A Caulfield Cup day special aged 48 months is Morgan Dollar in the Thai Airways International Sprint.

Gave them a shallacking in the Dermody in July and followed that up with a respectable 2nd to valley-specialist Kaphero in the McEwan at his latest outing.

He invariably runs his best races fresh and the 8 weeks off between runs is of no concern. He looks to be flying on the track and should race extremely well today.

He steps up to the 1100m but he has been finishing off his races better as a 4YO and his brilliance need not be confined to 5f.

A winner at the track already, Morgan Dollar has the services of Caulfield specialist D.Dunn who will need to be on his game early to get him across from the 11 gate.

He'll look the winner at some stage (most likely as he gallops across the finishing post) and represents great value.

He should be the favourite in my opinion and I expect him to go very close to getting the cash.

Have a great CC day.

It's Marasco in the Northerly

Cheese

Fred must be loving this.

His current star lining up in the race held in honour of his former champ.

60kg+ on his back is no easy task but from barrier 3 with Pikey on board he'll get his chance.

Any reports from the West as to how well he has come up this campaign?
