CATBIRD

coat puller

Catbird has been put down due to laminitis.
I remember him beating Align and Shogun Lodge in the Golden Slipper. He was proving to be a good sire as well, very sad.

Buckley to retire?

coat puller

I have read on another forum, a few Collingwood supporters stating that Bucks will retire after the Anzac Day clash with Essendon. I hope this is not so, and he completes this season at least. He has been a champion of the game, and sad to see a wonderful career ended by injuries. Players like Nathan Buckley should get the say in when time is up, and if he feels that time is now, well who are we to argue. If it is true, I wish him all the best in retirement.
Onya Bucks.

AFL Predictions

coat puller

With the start of the 2007 season only a few days away, I was wondering who the forumites would be tipping to win the flag this year. With all the bad publicity the AFL has received, the start of the comp. could not come soon enough.

Could forumites suggest/predict the winner, the runner up, the most improved team in 2007, and for those who care, the top Victorian team, and the likely wooden spooner.

I'll start with Sydney to take the flag this year. The Saints to make the final, and thus be Victoria's top side (ahead of WB).
I'll go Hawthorn as the big improvers, and the obvious choice of Kangaroos as spooners.

Horse Of The Year

With this being such an even season, which horse can do enough to grab the HOTY title?
I have thought about it a little, and there isn't a real standout is there?
I believe the title is still up for grabs.
