Can anyone recommend an accountant or accounting firm in Melbourne that specialises or has a major exposure to the horse racing/breeding/ownership industry ?
If possible, please explain why you would recommend them.

Greg Eurell launched his website recently and it is a pretty good one to !
It has secure log on for owners with trainer comments, owners blogs and owners business network.
The site also has a horses available section, stable news and industry news.
The home page has details of upcoming stable runners, nominations and weights.
Each horse in the stable has a dedicated page which is accessable to all that visit the site.
All in all a very good and informative site.

I'm interested to hear what people believe may be the best race tempo for Rostova in the Prelude on Saturday.
Would she be better suited to a fast tempo or a sit and sprint ?
Where do you believe she would be best positioned in the run given each of the tempo alternatives ?
Does it even matter ???

Our broodmare Miduki had her second starter today, 3yo G El Morro (by Brief Truce), trained by Liam Birchley at Eagle Farm.
He was on debut and won by two lengths over 1200m.
He joins half brother Periduki (by Perugino) on the winners list making it two to race for the mare for two winners.
We have El Morro's 2yo full sister in work at present and couldn't be happier.

The authorities should just give offending jockeys the choice of $$$ fine or weeks off.
It happens all to often that a jockey gets a reduced penalty that just so happens to enable them to ride in a big race and as a trade off they increase the dollar penalty.
If the authorities are prepared to "sell" meetings missed via suspension for cash then at least be open about it.
Think of this, how much did Craig Newitt miss in lost earnings for his 18months off and what could he have spent buying this time back ??
