Did anyone see the win of Nextanix in r3 at kembla today? I missed the race unfortunately, but I've followed this domesday gelding since his first few starts. He showed he had talent as a young horse, hitting the line hard and finishing not far off the likes of Sincero. He didn't come up last spring and has had a long time off, but I've always thought he'd make a good horse and it's good to see him in the winner's circle at least

I've been keen on this horse for quite a while. He hasn't exactly set the world on fire this prep, but I know Snowden will have him peaking for the derby and I think he's worth an each way ticket at around $18

I know Benfica didn't hit the line all that well last start, but he missed the start, travelled back in the field and had to make a very long run. Hot Snitzel won well, but he had a very easy run and I think Benfica can turn the tables.

Demerit

I have followed this horse ever since his first win. I had a good collect in the guineas prelude, but I have since given all that back and then some. He was disappointing last autumn and then I thought he came back well in the spring, but struck wet tracks which I'm not convinced he handles that well. His runs so far this autumn have been poor. I really thought he'd be a group 1 horse, but doesn't seem to have gone on with it

I'm interested to see read what people made of his last run. On face value he was a little disappointing, but there was enough there to keep me interested. Firstly, there was a huge amount of money for him. At the 200m he burst through on the inside and looked like he would run away with the race but stopped on his run. Was this because the inside was off, he struggled to run the trip off a faster pace or simply because he is not good enough? Been by zenno rob roy i think the distance should be the least of his worries. Admittedly he was beaten quite comfortably and it's hard to see him winning on saturday, but it would not shock me.
Disclaimer: I've followed this horse for a while and backed him at $126 for the guineas so I think I talking in hope more than anything else
