Hunter’s Grace scored his first win in four starts in good style. He did not show much pace from his inside barrier (1) but recovered along the rails to settle in fourth spot. He got a split on straightening, took the lead at the 100m and then drew clear to win by a two and a quarter lengths. The favourite Theycallmethehoff was smartly away and went straight to the lead. He fought back well when challenged in the straight, but tired in the latter stages, just holding on for second. *ANZ
