Mr Bogart is a promising three-year-old, now winning three of his four starts this preparation. He began well and then eased to get a good trip, fifth on the rails, following a strong tempo. He switched out on straightening, challenged at the 100m and finished a bit too well to score by a long head, putting up a good effort, in what looks a good form race. Four-year-old El Sasso was fourth, one out and one back. He took a narrow lead at the 100m and then fought on gamely for (long head) second. Godolphin-raced three-year-old Segregation was very smartly away and worked in the early stages before settling outside the leader. He hit the lead at the 200m and then battled on well for a good third, considering his early efforts. The favourite Caped Crusader worked hard from his outside barrier (12) and showed a lot of pace the cross to the lead nearing the 700m. He only tired from the 100m and this promising three-year-old did very well to hold on for (2.6 lengths) fifth at this first run from a spell and at only his second race start.
