James Cummings-trained colt Rockafella is now unbeaten after two starts following his debut win in a Wyong Maiden (1000m) on 12 July with a good win, stepping up in class here. He was a little slow to move from barrier one before settling in fourth place on the rails. He got a split to challenge at the home turn, lifted gamely from the 100m and then fought back to win well. Loverboy Charlie raced back in sixth place, got through to third at the 200m and looked the winner when he challenged at the 200m. He then battled well under his top weight (61kg) for a very good second.
