The well supported Ciaron Maher-trained filly Srikandi won well here on debut. She began smartly and raced outside the leader (Artie’s Lucy) before taking the lead on turning for home. She then battled gamely in the Heavy10 conditions in the straight and appeared to score comfortably, by a length, at the post. Sophia’s Spell was handy all the way, challenged at the 100m and then battled on to take second with Henning running on nicely from midfield for third on debut. *ANZ
