Gracious Prospect began well and went straight to the lead. He settled nicely in front and was then able to steady the pace (first 800m 49.69) before grabbing a break passing the 400m. He was getting a little tied nearing the post by lasted to win by a half neck, running quite a good trial for next month’s Magic Millions 3yO Guineas (RL, 1400m). The filly Star Beauty ($4.00 fav) travelled in fourth spot on the rails most of the way to the 600m before moving through to second at the 300m. She then continued to battle on well in the sprint home, gradually making ground to get within a half neck of the winner at the post. Adirondack ($6) was fourth, one out and one back, moved up three-deep at the home turn and kept fighting on in the straight for third. *ANZ
